We stayed in Oakland during Chinese New Year over 8 nights with 2 little kids. The hotel is exceptional, perfectly managed. The staff was extraordinarily engaged, professional, friendly. The breakfast was superb. We had a beautiful house for ourselves, which was build in a very high quality (e.g. regarding the materials). Every morning, several staff members cleaned up every corner (every surface, under the bed, windows,...) of our house over two hours. Within 10 minutes, you reach a large adventure park, a cable car, and the ferry port for Ha Long boat tours. The pool area was beautiful, decent gym, the beach was great (huge sand beach with the Ha Long Bay mountains in the background of the ocean.. spectacular). And they had an own 2-level house as a kids club, open from 9-5.

Very nice hotel but empty as it was the low season. Staff very helpful

Evening meal menu was too limited and occasionally poor standard. It is a pity the staff didn’t offer any trips from the hotel although they did arrange the Ha Long bay boat trip which was very good.

Very spacious, amazing facilities, super friendly and attentive staff. Quite possibly the best place that I have ever stayed.

Nothing, it was perfect

Had a great 2 night stay in the villa. The staff was very helpful they offered to upgrade us to a larger property to accommodate for wheelchair traveller in our group. Ala carte breakfast at The Market restaurant was well done and included traditional Vietnamese options. Leisure amenities and access to the private beach was an added bonus. Highly recommend.

Modern, stylish resort-style accommodation in Ha Long - a great base for those looking to stop over before a cruise. We did a 2D 1N Lan Ha Bay cruise and stayed at Oakwood the night before - it was ideal. Ha Long is a strange place as it's a ghost town, and though the hotel was quiet we had a great stay, using the gym and pool and enjoying a great breakfast.

Check-in was a bit strange with staff more interested in processing deposit payments and holding charges etc than making us feel welcome

I loved everything. Accommodation size, price, service, location and breakfast buffet. We rented scooters through the hotel. They where really beat up but we got to explore the area.

Dinner, we ate at the restaurant one night because we arrive at night, tired from a tour. The food was not good. Which contradict the breakfast buffet wich we loved.

The property was beautiful, quality built and staff members were great.
