The hotel was close to Acadia National Park and there was dining and miniature golf next door which was convenient.

The staff was not "friendly". All business no pleasantries. This is an older hotel. You can park directly in front of your room. The rooms are very, very small. They updated the heating with a mini split in the room but the old heating system is still there. The baseboard heating in the bathroom was rusted and just made the room feel outdated and dirty. The bathroom needed updating. The staff was not overly accommodating. No continental breakfast and no staff at the front counter at checkout-they had a box to drop your key in when you left.

"Don't waste your money"

1.0

Nothing

When we first checked into the room there were dirty footprints on the carpet were it looked like someone had dirt on their feet and drug it into the room. I entered the bathroom the sink that was originally ceramic tiled was painted white and the white paint is peeling off of it. Not a super big deal but you kind of expect not to have peeling paint and dirty floors when you check into a place. Later that night when we pulled the bed back to sleep in it we found three long black hairs in the bed. I have blonde hair my girlfriend's a redhead. That was also terribly uncomfortable the outer edge of the bed felt like there was a heavy wire running around the outside edge of it and it just was not a comfortable bed to sleep in and we both woke up with our backs hurting. That night the people in room 6  sounded like they were hurding cattle until about 3:00 in the morning. The next day we went out hiking and to the beach. When we returned to our room to get showers and cleaned up for an important meeting we had there was no water. When I asked the lady at the front desk she said it was shut off because they were working on it some kind of problem with the pressure. We had to gather up our stuff and go to a friend's place to get showers to get ready for our meeting. That is kind of ridiculous. When we returned to the room that night for some reason our TV was not working it was stuck on the main channel that comes on when you first turn it on and wouldn't do anything else the only thing that was working was the power button. When I called the number I was informed that the office was closed and it was really nothing she could do. I unplugged the Box and let it sit for a while and when I plugged it back in it was still stuck I ended up unplugging it and just leaving it unplugged all night when I plugged it back in the morning it was now working so I'm guessing the Box just had to have time to reset.

"A Refreshing Vintage Experience!"

10.0

We purposefully chose Acadia Pines because we wanted a "vintage motel" experience for our foray to ANP. (We are Smokies' veterans, and we have dear memories of the same old "mom and pop" family motel in Gatlinburg.) It was quiet, well-kept, and spacious enough for our visit. We appreciated the mini-fridge and the microwave, as well as the key-drop option, as we left at 4 AM for sunrise at the waterfront in Bar Harbor. We were touched by the obvious care by the staff in providing so many beautiful flowers on the property. Had we longer for our Acadia journey, we would have made Acadia Pines our homestay throughout. Thank you so much! (P.S. If you cannot get tix to sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, watch it from the waterfront, go to Jordan's Restaurant for breakfast...the only one we found that opens at 5 AM and delicious...and then go up Cadillac Mountain for sunrise at 6 or after...it's still lovely. The showstopper was Cadillac at SUNSET, the night before. Don't! Forget! Sunset! Be sure to get tix for either or both online through the park service; required.)

All was good!~

"Comfortable yet economical"

8.0

The coffee machine worked well. The refrigerator was in excellent shape and also worked well. The beds were comfortable and we were able to get a hot shower.

Overall, the room met our needs. Suggestions: 1. Please provide some napkins or paper towels. 2. A nightlight in the bathroom would help.
