The place is very nice and looks just like the pictures. The futon and pillows are very soft and comfortable. The facilities are great and clean.

The place is more on the expensive side. Don't know where is the heater for the second floor. There are no convenience stores nearby the place.

The accommodation was admittedly visually beautiful, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. We were allowed to leave our bags at the house before check-in time which was extremely helpful. The showers had great water pressure and temperature and the bath products (body wash, shampoo, conditioner) were all up to standard. The bed and comforter were plush and comfortable to sleep on.

We arrived at the house after an extremely long day of travel, hoping to be able to relax and unwind in this beautiful accommodation. My friend and I went to the grocery store to pick up some dinner rather than eat out, and came back to eat it at the house only to realize a lack of utensils of any kind, as well as drinking cups and other basic kitchen appliances. We ended up having to eat our dinner with our bare hands. As the sun went down, we noticed the house also became extremely cold, which understandably tends to be normal in traditional Japanese housing, however, there was only one heater located downstairs of the two-story home, which did not provide nearly enough heat between the two of us and not for the entire home. We had to huddle by it as we ate our dinner. We also had to do laundry, and the machine not only didn't seem to dry our clothes whatsoever but left soap stains all over our clothing which was not at all properly cleaned. I noticed that the walls of the home were made of paper, which again may be part of traditional housing - however, there was a HOLE in the wall where there was a draft coming in from outside. When it was time to go to bed, we found ourselves sleeping fully under our blankets, shivering from the cold. The next morning, both of us woke up with sore throats, and our clothes were still damp and soiled from the laundry the night before, despite our attempts to hang dry. I found myself with a severe cold for the remainder of my trip, making travel highly difficult and unpleasant. I left feeling shocked that a place so beautiful could have such a disregard for the basic guest experience - any accommodation with a kitchen should surely have utensils?! As well as the lack of heat and how no one from the maintenance staff noticed the hole in the wall which undoubtedly led to our sickness from one night of staying here. If it were up to me, I would receive a full refund on this stay for the lack of attention to detail and comfort.

The staff were very attentive to us when one of the main wooden sliding doors werent working, it was really cold winter night. After we managed to contact them using all methods on different platform (thats how desperate we were), they couldnt do a quick fix as it was over the weekend but they provided us with a brand new portable heater which helped!

Shower is on 2nd floor.. the open shower on ground floor could be challenging to use during winter.

The whole process was smooth. It was easy to communicate with the host. Also beautiful, authentic environment, we loved it.

The onsen was a bit different than we expected
