Villa Paladina

The price was cheaper than many for Hvar. The terrace has a nice view although it is shared not private.

We arrived and there was no one there to greet us. Phoned several times the different numbers advertised in the building. The doors were open and we could walk straight into our apartment. For us this didn’t feel very secure or safe. When the host arrived finally, she told us that we could pay cash only despite booking.com information saying that we would be charged on my card. She allowed us to transfer the money by bank transfer because we did not have cash. There was no holder for the shower head meaning you had to hold it over you to wash yourself. The bed was very uncomfortable. The kitchen had a weird smell and the cupboards were held together with sellotape. It is very difficult to get taxis in Hvar as much of it is pedestrianised, so difficult to get here with luggage with it being very uphill and lots of steps. It is about a 16 minute walk to the centre. There were many apartments closer with a similar price and with better facilities. Unfortunately we only realised when we got there and it was too late to cancel.

The payments are requested to be done in cash (I never received a message letting me know that) No soap, shampoo, conditioner neither cream in the apartment. The shower head mouth was not attached and we had to hold it with the hand.

Great people, with a really suitable location and an amazing view.

First of all, having A/C is soooo helpful around summer here in Croatia but we barely needed it at night here. We just kept our french door blinds open. This apartment is also within Hvar Old Town so everything is basically walkable. The landlord was so easy to communicate with and easy to reach. Paul has a network of Hvar tour guides and rentals, so even if you did not book anything prior to arriving, just ask Paul about it. We ended up renting his car for a day to visit Stari Grad. If we didn't have a heavy thunderstorm that day, we could have gone on 4x4 tour to visit the lavender fields, vineries, and the climbing area on the island. Our room has a nice patio and a kitchenette. Very well worth it! This apartment is also a 5-minute walk to a nice cove beach.

A little bit far from the town but still doable by foot.

The staff so helpful and responsive to anything you need. Location was good for me - 15min walk from the port and in the opposite direction, only an 8min walk to Pokonji Dol beach (the top beach on this island)! Great Air con system kept my bedroom cool and decent WiFi. Thanks.

The noise from other guests until midnight from their balcony/terrace & corridors was an issue on the 2nd night. The walls must be pretty thin… I had to ask for a kettle and cereal bowl 🥣 - but staff were so quick and responsive to this!

Very nice location and nice appartment

We booked 2 apartments and they were exceptional value for money .Whilst the kitchen were small this was more than accommodated with amazingly large balconies which effectively added the most beautiful dining and relaxation area with an outstanding view!!!! It was such an amazing surprise when we opened the balcony doors and a short walk to a beautiful beach cove . Our lovely hosts were exceptional ....responsive ,helpful and so informative . If I go back to Hvar this is where I will stay. Thank you .

I recently stayed at this guest house and I must say that the service was simply excellent. The staff were incredibly attentive and courteous, and they really went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this establishment where the service and staff are truly top quality.
