Trailway Motel

The room was not as advertised as there was no coffee maker, no microwave, and no refrigerator. The room was extremely outdated even for the decent price. Even before I checked in and paid for the room, the women in the "lobby" was kind of rude and kept repeating no refunds, no refunds! I guess that I should have figured something wasn't quite as advertised on booking.com

The place is run down. The mattress and the box springs did not quite fit onto the metal frame of the one and only bed in the room. I kept getting scratches that drew blood on my left ankle and lower leg. Told management and he said there was nothing he could do. My husband and I booked room in advance for two overnights. When we arrived, the desk clerk said they were not doing reservations as it was a holiday weekend. Due to the persistence of my husband and I, she called her boss who was supposedly out of town. He told her to honor the reservation. Thank goodness because we were on a budget. The room itself was outdated. One of the 3 locks had been busted on the door. The room appeared clean but our socks got filthy when we took our shoes off to get ready for bed. We did have a relative peace and quiet. Also, the first room they tried to give us reeked of cannabis and the room we ended up taking smelled like beer. We are not going to use this motel ever again.

The room is smelly and pillows were dirty. It was a highway stop for us. Its was very difficult for us to pass few hours. Bathroom was small but ok. Overall not recommended even what price you will get.

If you want to be around illegal activities including staff feel free..booked this place through booking.com about an hour before we got to St. Louis, we weren't sure when we would be getting to town so we didn't try to book something earlier..here is how things went..I called right after I booked with my phone to be sure we had a room and to let them know about our late arrival time around 11 P.M and was assured we had a room. Never having been to St. Louis before had know idea what kind of neighborhood it was but trusted it would be in a safe place, pulling into the parking lot I was already pretty sure I didn't want to stay even after 12 hours of driving due to the kinds of people hanging around..we went to the booth yes I said booth to check in and saw a sign saying no rooms, thinking we had one we went in and rang the bell. I noticed there was a wash cloth stuck under the window where you slide your payment under and could smell smoke not the cig kind ..the guy came to the window and just kept saying no rooms no rooms.I tried to show him my conformation and let him know I had to talked to a gal earlier and again just got no rooms..needless to say we left and found a room at the red roof inn, we probably wouldn't have stayed even if they did have a room just because of all the crap going on outside.. I have felt safer staying in iffy places outside of the country..please avoid this one !!
