Arctic Skylight Lodge

Fantastic super kind staff, the restaurant on site was incredible, and the glass cabins were beautiful! We absolutely loved our stay! Only negative to note which was not that big of a deal is on the shower there is a sign that says you only have 15 minutes of hot water per hour and in our experience we had about 9 minutes before it was freezing cold. All in all, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend!

Most amazing experience! We had such a great time in this lodge! The room was incredible, we could see northern lights from our bed, the location is super beautiful and peaceful! We had dinner there at the restaurant and the food was truly incredible! Kudos to the chef !!! Would definitely recommend and be back soon!

The check in/out process was easy. All of the front desk workers were helpful and accommodating. The cabin was so cozy, perfect for a couple. The restaurant was phenomenal. We had the breakfast daily (which was included) and then opted for the dinner experience. The food was fantastic and all locally sourced with an unforgettable Finnish touch. We did have a great time using the luggage sled for our own enjoyment sledding down the hill to the sauna area.

I would not recommend staying here if you have limited mobility since the trail to get down to the cabin requires that you pull a sled with your luggage behind you (we did not mind this personally), but don't bring tons of bags with you! The bathroom in the cabin did make you feel like you were camping somewhat with the shower opening up to the toilet and it was a very small space with limited hot water (this was made clear with signage which was a great heads up). If you stay here, I would recommend having a personal car since it is quite a walk to get to the main town area. Another option could be cross country skis which a lot of the locals used to get around rather than driving. If you do excursions though, most will accommodate to pick you up at the lodge. Although we absolutely loved staying in this area, I do think the stay was overpriced. In addition, they had a sauna/ice hole on the property but we opted out of this since it was another additional unnecessary cost outside of what we were already paying (should absolutely be included in stay rate).

Very nice and calm location. Views from the cabin were amazing and could see the norther lights from them. Very friendly staff. We booked the 3-course dinner which was delicious and the space is cozy. Breakfast was also delicious and with lots of choices

We booked the finnish sauna which didnt met the expectations. The facilities were a bit far from the cabins, with no lighting at all on the way so it was very confusing to reach there and not safe at all with no lights and snow/ice all over. The jacuzzi was quite cold so we didn't use it; I would recommend to not offer its service if it can't be warm enough at very low temperatures. You need to carry your own towel from the room to be used in the sauna and then come back in the cold weather with a wet towel if you want to use it when back in your room (which got frozen on the way back to the room at -30 degrees). No glasses or drinking water available in the sauna facilities. In my opinion, for the price paid, this experience should be much improved to be worth it.

It was stunningly beautiful and way more affordable than similar places further south

It would be good if they could make some recommendations on how to manage the heat so the windows don’t fog up, because when that happens and you lose the view it sort of defeats the purpose.
