Canad Inns Destination Centre Portage la Prairie

This property is quite dated. There was a stain on the carpet in our room. Dim lighting in the rooms as well. The service at the tavern was poor. Overpaid for our room (not worth it unless you can get it for cheap)...

Very enjoyable stay

For being a Canad Inns this place was awful. Our hide a bed couldn’t be used because the sheets were dirty , there was blood stains on our top sheet on the queen bed. Went to shower and no hot water at all. The choline from the pool could choke a horse

The hotel itself could use some updating/renovation, but overall it was a clean stay with a comfy bed. Unfortunately for us, a large group of people staying at the hotel decided to camp out in the lobby, making it very loud for guest rooms, but thats not the hotel's fault.

When I arrived it was very nice on the inside. The hotel room was mostly clean besides a few small things on the floor (popcorn kernels). It was very quiet at night (might not always be the case as I was there on a weekday). I asked the front desk if I could extend my stay for an extra night, they agreed and they made it super easy. The bathroom was very clean and the staff were all very nice. The room I was in specifically I could see the pool and it was pretty humid in there. Other than that pretty nice place, pretty well kept and I will be going back there again. The only other thing is that Aaltos is only open 07:00-14:00 but i’m sure they can’t help that. Otherwise I think this would be a good place to stay if you’re on your way through or even just looking for a small staycation with your family or for yourself.

Fun staycation destination!

Staff were amazing. We got to our room to find it freezing. We cranked the heat (or so we thought) and went to the pool for a while. When we got back to the room we realized the heat was blowing cold air. Maintenance came within minutes to look and replaced this and that on the heater. The heat worked for a while and then kicked off. He had requested we not go further than the notch he put on the heater, which didn't allow the room to get quite to our liking but still decent enough. We were told we couldn't switch rooms because the hotel was completely booked, so we just dealt with it. Although it was less than ideal. We did appreciate the effort and the service from the staff. Next time we stay there, we will be sure to check heater before getting all comfy ;)
