GBStaff were lovely - the lady who greeted us on arrival was great! The room was nice and clean, parking was plentiful, and the price is VERY reasonable. This place is a gem. Would absolutely recommend and gladly stay here again in the future.
The bed could do with being a king size. And that's literally us clutching at straws for things we'd improve.

When we booked in we asked about food and we were not told that we could have a cob in the bar. That would have suited us.

We booked this as an overnight break on a long journey. We thought from the info it did breakfast, so I wrote to ask the times and got no reply either through Hotels.com chat, or direct email to the pub. We also thought it did evening food as listed. When we got there it did neither, so we ended up at another pub a short walk away and getting up to find a Greggs or a shop in the morning before our onward journey. Disappointing and incorrect information. The room was clean and functional. Very light curtains and traffic noise means eyepatches and earplugs are needed. Our stay was in the hot weather and they had a problem with the landing radiators stuck on which added to the discomfort. If all you need is a bed, its adequate, but we wouldn't stay again, and sadly wouldnt recommend it.
GBSurprisingly quiet room as it's above a pub! Clean & comfortable - just what you want. No breakfast or hot meals available at the pub but they did provide a pain au chocolate for breakfast in our room (plus a kettle & tea/coffee makings). Wide range of real ales sold in the pub - perfect for beer aficionados!
The only negative were 2 very bright green lights in the bedroom & bathroom, giving a strange green glow to the whole room all night (only notice it when you switch all the lights off...). If we had not been so tired, it could well have disturbed our sleep. Think it's to do with emergency lighting or fire escapes, but the brightness of it really is excessive and sensitive sleepers could be seriously disturbed & unhappy.
After a long motorbike trip from Plymouth to Harrogate my husband stayed here for a night half way he said it was an absolute gem and loved his room and bathroom. The pub was welcoming and friendly and had a food truck too.
Nice place ..welcoming and free cheese night what's not to like !!! Very good room for the price
