Mountainaire Inn and Log Cabins

We chose this spot because we had certain things the most important on our list. A porch to drink coffee on and visit in the mornings/evenings was main on our list. We wanted to walk to restaurants in town. We wanted to be in the same space with 3 separate beds. What you see in the pictures is what you get but you can tell these are older built cabins. REAL logs inside and out. Quaint is a good word. So if expectations are correct you will enjoy the amenities. Our sheets, towels, bathroom, kitchen was clean and good smelling. Not new. But all very workable and super hot water! The fireplace works by touch of a button. The heat had no control we could use. It stayed warm inside and we wanted it cooler. So we opened the windows at night. It has a couple window unit AC's. But again things are aged and hard to keep. Our porch rockers needed a good wipe down before we sat. The rough upstairs railing was a big dust collector. Kitchen has coffee pot, small freg with freezer on top, hot water kettle on stove, small set of dishes, and silverware with dish soap, paper towels, and dish cloths supplied. We had 4 chairs with a small round table. It is an easy walk but uphill to the main street and park. A small stream runs around on this property and every morning when we went out to sit with our coffee a deer would be munching on the flowers. The staff was helpful when anything was needed. A single parking space was close but you have stairs to get on/off the porch with a gravel walkway. Big luggage would be very difficult here to handle or find places to store inside.

Great location!

We loved the easy access to downtown shoppes & restaurants. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking right at room and the chairs on the porch are a nice touch!

Great little "mom & pop" motel with a few cabins as well. Clean, close to Main St attractions, free coffee and ice, fire pit, and great firm mattresses! Staff is helpful and very nice. Highly recommend!!!

Convenient to downtown Blowing Rock

Great cabin, perfect location!

Nice - liked the rustic decor! Also, no bugs inside! The outside is in need of some weeding- as they were coming out from under the steps (we rented Cozy Cabin). The community fire pit was a nice way to end the night!

The Mountainaire is a delight. This was my second stay, and I came again because of the value and great location that allows you to walk to the many beautiful restaurants, shops and sites in downtown Blowing Rock. The room and surrounding areas are clean, and the service is great. We’ll be back.

Very good for the price and very quiet

Was like staying in your grandmothers old house. Very dark, tiny bathroom with a tiny sink and a very short toilet. Noisy window A/C unit. Check-in was very uninformative since room was not located on site, no directions given to actual room. Pictures of the property are very deceiving. Zero chance of staying at this property again!
