"Walking distance from the ferries to the Aeolian islands"

6.0

We chose to stay here two nights in order to take a trip to Stromboli. The hotel is about 300 metres from the ferry terminal. There is no parking at the hotel but the staff were helpful in arranging valet parking nearby for a reasonable cost. The rooms are small and if you have a lot of luggage you may struggle. Certainly too small for an extended stay. Breakfast was quite good. The wifi works fine but annoyingly you have to have a separate login for each device and only a short period of inactivity results in you being logged out.

"Very good place for stopover in Milazzo"

10.0

The hotel is very conveniently located for the bus from Catania and the ferry to the islands only a five minute walk away. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable with french windows and a tiny balcony; it was a bit noisy early in the morning with the windows open but on the other hand interesting to see the comings and goings in the street. The breakfast was really excellent: freshly squeezed lemon juice, great coffee, various cheeses and cold meats, little savoury and sweet pastries, croissants, and a lovely lemon and olive oil cake - a very enjoyable start to the day! Would happily go back there again - very good value for money.

"Excellent"

10.0

Excellent hotel with very clean rooms. All you need is in the rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Very central location. Could not ask for more. Recommended to those who visit Milazzo, even if on short stay to go to islands.

"Good hotel for a Stop-over for the Islands"

8.0

We picked this hotel due to its location near to the ferry port at Milazzo. We were not disappointed; the hotel is about 200 metres from the ferry departure point! It's in the centre of town but wasn't too noisy at all. On our arrival we had a swift check in process and the receptionist kindly arranged for a chap to collect our hire car and park it. She also struck a deal with the company as we were leaving it for 7 days, which saved us about €30. The car was collected and safely returned a week later. (€80 for 8 days. Usually €15 a day.) We stayed twice over the week and were not disappointed in either case. The rooms were modern, clean and of a good size. Complimentary gels etc were provided and the showers (no baths) were powerful and refreshing. The room had an electronic safe and TV with English channels. Breakfast was served from 6.30 - great for the early ferries. It was the standard hot and cold fare offered in Sicilian hotels, but plenty Andy good standard. We ate out at night. There are a couple of bars directly across the road; I found both fine. The Neptune was spot on run by a couple of ladies. The Scotch bar was a little pricier but they provided a large 'selection of tapas' with each drink...perhaps a bit too much! I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the islands. It's great for an early morning ferry and a welcome sight when returning after a long days trekking! And the staff were great too - good wifi in the rooms too!

"Stop over on way to Aeonian Islands"

10.0

Hotel was very clean, staff very helpful and welcoming. Suggested we leave some luggage behind as we had too much, they locked it away until our return. Location is ideal for walking to marina. Surrounded by great restaurants, but try some in little side streets as we did and were pleasantly surprised.

"Clean, modern good sized rooms"

8.0

We were very happy to stay at this hotel on transit from the Aeolian islands to Catania. The service was friendly and helpful, the rooms and hotel very clean and modern. We had no trouble with the size of the ensuite nor with the church bell ringing it stopped at 10pm and resumed at about 7am. The breakfast was all you need. It's near the port and the old city and lots of little eateries. I sometimes wonder when people complain what their expectations are

"First visit to Milazzo, gateway to the Isolde Aeolian"

8.0

Very convienent location for the cruises to the islands, the ocean promenade, restaurants & cafes, the fish market, post office, internet business, etc. Very walkable neighborhood. Evening manager, Alessio, spoke english well and was very helpful. The day persons at the desk and at breakfast were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Good value hotel. Small but clean & neat. Again great location to walk about Milazzo. Two very good restaurants near by, Newport Cafe and Cafe Russo. Note: dinner is served beginning at 9:00pm (2100). Local travel agency very helpful with arranging cruises to the islands - Volcano, Lipari, Stromboli. Also helpful to help us make the bus connection to the ferry in Messina to continue onto Reggio Calabria. We would recommend this hotel to fellow travelers.

"4* but I'm not sure why...."

6.0

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night having returned from Lipari. The location was good and it's very close to the marina. The boat terminal is less than a 6-7 min walk... The hotel it's self is well decorated and very modern. The room however was the size of a match box. With a full size case and a carry on bag there was hardly room for us. The en suite was very tight and at 6 months pregnant I only just fit in the shower. The bed was comfortable but the air con was so loud and cold that we spent the night getting in and out of bed turning it on and off. The flashing light on the fire alarm made it seam like we were at an all night rave..... Breakfast was definitely below average for a 4*. The coffee was delicious. The reception staff were lovely and both we met had good English.

"September at Milazzo"

10.0

We have just returned from a happy four night stay in Milazzo Sicily and have to say what a lovely place it is with so much to see and do. We were staying at the Cassisi Hotel which offered rooms which were a bit on the small side but beautifully furnished. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. It probably is the best situated hotel in the area which was close to the harbour ferries to the islands and also to the old part of town. A walk along the promenade and to the beach are recommended and a visit to the fortress is a must. There are so many quaint piazzas, streets, shops and restaurants to discover. The only down side to Cassisi Hotel was the breakfast which was not up to standard for a four star hotel and more akin to a B and B. All in all I highly recommend staying at the Cassisi when visiting the beautiful town of Milazzo.

"A brilliant small boutique hotel - everything was perfect"

10.0

I travel very often to Lipari, in the Aeolian Islands. Flights often get in too late at Catania, to catch the bus direct to the port of Milazzo, so you have to overnight. There are loads of hotnels to chose from. I have stayed in many. This time, I chose the Cassisi, because it is minutes from the new ferry ticket office and terminal. The check in booked though a comparison site, was smooth efficient and stress free. Within minutes, I was in my room. The room was very up to date design wise, and stylish. I had balcony, over the alley, and could see the harbour to the left and the main street to the right. The bed was very comfortable, with excellent crisp bed linen. The room, bathroom and shower, were spotless and everything looked new and verywell looked after. Breakfast, was brilliant. I have stayed another 5 or 6 hotels on this trip of all prices and classes. This was the best so far. There was a large range of breads, rolls and fresh pastries. The fruit juice was fresh, not an undrinkable watered down concentrate. Cereals looked good, so did the ham and cheese. Coffee was properly made....and was good coffee. Excellent work Cassisi - first rate in every way. A word about Milazzo. In the past, I have only rushed through to get to the islands, only stopping for a coffee, while waiting for a ferry. This time due to flight time change, I had an afternoon and evening to spend there. The fort on the top of the town, is really worth a visit. You can climb all over the battlements, right to the top. A very pleasant afternoon and evening.
