Casa Antonieta

After spending a few days in a large all-inclusive resort in Cancun, it was a joy to arrive at this small, historic property in the heart of Oaxaca. Beautifully restored, the hotel felt cool, welcoming, and full of character, with well-furnished rooms that provided both comfort and style. What truly made the stay exceptional was the staff — genuinely warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Their recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, and general local tips were invaluable and added so much to our experience. The location was perfect, just a short 10-minute walk from the cathedral and the main town square, making it easy to explore all that Oaxaca has to offer. Breakfast was served in the cosy coffee shop, which opens out onto the street and is clearly popular with locals — always a great sign. The menu offered an interesting selection of healthy options, a refreshing change from typical hotel offerings. Each evening, complimentary wine was served on the rooftop terrace, creating a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, with the added option of enjoying excellent local cuisine from the restaurant — the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. While there may be more traditional luxury hotels in Oaxaca (and we visited a few), we could not imagine a more perfect place to stay than Casa Antonieta. For comfort, location, atmosphere, and outstanding service, it comes highly recommended.

The design of the property was very chic but was respectful of the architecture and architectural language of the city. It was very central to explore the city but still in a very quiet street. In fact, our room was so quiet, I didn’t need ear loops. The team were so friendly and attentive, it felt like you were being hosted in a friend’s über chic colonial home. I can’t praise the team enough: from the welcome on arrival, to the staff at the rooftop bar acquiring some chicharrones from the market for us when they found out we were looking for some, to the guys at Musso with our daily dose of caffeine. Everyone was so efficient and welcoming. Loved loved loved our stay.

Fantastic location, gorgeous design, and some of the best hospitality we’ve experienced. The ladies at the front desk were especially helpful and gave us great recommendations for our time in Oaxaca. We were so sad to leave and hope to return soon!!

Gorgeous property with thoughtful touches everywhere. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and remembered our names right away. The food in the restaurant is excellent as is most of the food in this city.

I loved everything!

The location was excellent, close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. The room was large and super comfortable. Above all, was the kindness and caring of the staff, who helped arrange a great itinerary for us for a day, and were always available to answer questions and provide information.

El edificio es espectacular, habitación y baño muy amplio, personal muy amable. Buen desayuno.

La cama es muy sensible a los movimientos y además hacía un ruido algo molesto.
