La Residence

I was once advised that the difference between great and excellence is an inch of effort. The Dining Room exemplifies this philosophy because they go far beyond what most would do. I was rather shocked at how gracious and skilled they all were. I was feeling rather unwell that night and they went out of their way to make me comfortable. From the greeting to the wait staff to the manager. The decor and ambience are epic and the food magnificent. They have set a new bar in my life about what service can be. Many thanks.

We returned to this outstanding hotel that is truly worthy of a 7 star rating for service levels that consistently exceed expectations. This is no ordinary hotel when it concerns guests' satisfaction. All rooms enjoy magnificent mountain views and affords absolute privacy. Breakfast is no different to a fine dining treat. Staff is attentive, yet never intrusive. The quality of all food items is exceptional, yet homely. We particularly appreciated the personalized service from the deputy general manager, Mr Hoon, who insists on carrying a guest's bag that either arrives or leaves. An absolutely unique exposure at this hotel is staff personally seeing and waving-off all guests. This type of above average service is what prompts guests to return and we will too.

Property has great views of the mountains, big open spaces, classic decoration, jacarandas gifted by Elton John, some peacocks walking around, and service is impeccable, Hoon, Ayrton and Craig were great and it was my first Royal Portfolio experience. Main pool has beautiful views

Fay and the team were amazing hosts. They went out of their way on every occasion to make our anniversary a special and memorable experience. Mario was an amazing waiter, gave us a personal cellar tour, recommended the most amazing food and drink and memories to last a lifetime.

Amazing experience, amazing staff from receptionist to Housekeeping, I can not wait to go back, absolutely memorable for a solo-cation. They go over and above for their guests. I'd recommend it over and over again. Beautiful scenery and landscapes.

We were greeted with surprise at the hotel entrance because of an internal confusion over the booking however as soon as this was resolved the rest of our lunch experience at La Residence was quite magnificent. The service and attention from the staff was outstanding nothing was too much trouble. The food and wine were quite superb served by a grand log fire on a relatively chilly afternoon. Lunch was rounded off with coffee on the terrace with incredible views over the gardens and to the mountains. A truly unforgettable experience. Thank you!

Hands down the most beautiful and fabulous hotel we have stayed in! Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are beyond excellent as is the service! The food is incredible! Gin bar sundowners whilst watching a stunning sunset with peacocks roaming was so beautiful! Our villa was incredible too! Was hard to leave but will definitely return! Everything was perfect! Stayed four nights in a spledidly over the top room, with massive space, crazy decor and lovely outlook to the fish pool. Standards at the hotel are very high and managers and hotel staff cheery and efficient. The grounds and pool are lovely, recovering from a flood last autumn, and the hotel is close to the many restaurants in the town. A nice feel to the place. The "But" relates to the restaurant, which on current form lets the hotel down. A rather short menu (the option to extend this did not add a lot) and slow service at breakfast and dinner. On one evening it took them 90 minutes to produce even a bottle of wine. It seems there is a lack of management supervision in the evenings.
