The Butchers Arms Freehouse

Everything was there that was needed. Big shower, good hot water. Comfy bed. Mostly clean. Friendly welcome and service in the bar.

Lack of attention to detail let it down. Looked like someone may have shut their dog in the room on its own and it had clawed at the door. It just needs a sand, clean and repaint to make it good again. Marks on the walls would no doubt clean off. Also the water pipes in the shower room needed a good clean and black mould in the corner needed attention. Some better quality teabags wouldn't go amiss too. The bedding seemed clean, but needed ironing! Just attention to these small things would make such a difference to the impression of the room overall.

Very friendly, lovely people ideal when travelling for work. Disappointed I arrived to late in the evening to enjoy the hotel's evening meal. Also I have have to leave early morning before breakfast, my issue not the hotels.

Friendly staff, dinner was good, room was clean.

TV signal was non-existent, wifi signal in room was poor, mattress was very old. To be fair, I doubt the hotel have the funds to invest where needed.

Quiet cabin adjacent to the main pub, well presented and clean. Usual in room facilities, tea, coffee, tv etc. Own shower & toilet. The 'Butchers breakfast' is very good too, they should consider opening earlier doing breakfasts! Friendly owners & staff. Close to coastal areas such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, sizewell and a short journey upto Southwold.

Only downside I found was wifi doesn't reach the cabins ( 1st world problems 😂)

Staff were friendly and inviting but the property in itself could do with a real good clean and update, chalets were quite good up-to-date with nice bathroom but mattresses need to be looked at as not very supportive
