USLet's get the elephant out of the room real quick. When I saw that the address was on MLK Blvd, I nearly backed out, remembering Chris Rock's advice to white boys. But do not let an address affect your decision to stay at this hotel. I saw some of the terrible reviews mixed with the good ones and could not believe these people had stayed at the same place. OK, some people got unlucky and others are just impossible to please. My room was clean, it had some signs of wear but so does my bedroom, the mattress was comfortable, the room was quiet, and the AC worked. I did not go in the pool but the first thing I noticed about it was how crystal clear the water was. I wanted to go in but my bathing suit was at home. The entire staff from check-in to housekeeping were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is really lacking. The best test for a hotel is if you come to stay with them again, I did. We spent a total of 4 nights. We were there for a Little League Tournament, and will stay here again when in Elgin.
