Cathedral Hill Hotel

Horrible neighborhood. Also it is not a hotel at all but just a motel in the Tenderloin. Not a place for a family.

THEY DONT HAVE KING BEDS. FALSE LISTING. Otherwise okay, very barebones. Lot of human poop on the street within a block radius

I decided to book , because the reviews were saying that was a good property. I don’t if I got a terrible room, but my experience was horrible. Cons: 1- Uncomfortable beds. The worst bed, I think the floor it’s was more comfortable. 2- The area around the property has a lot homeless people ( That it’s not the issue ), you can hear the gunfire, people fighting outside. I stay for two days, one of the days it’s was 4 pm and a man was hitting the hotel walls with a metal bar and fighting. Not a safe place. 3- The staff doesn’t care, they are rude. Pros : 1- Has parking 2- You need the key to go up in the elevator ( that it’s a must since the location it’s a dangerous place. 3- it’s close to a lot places. I would not recommend. I have been in hotels that were cheap than this one , with better quality. I wish I had pay more and stay in some place else.

The odor of pine sol (cleaning chemical) was too strong in the building (you may get irritated by it if you have sensitive respiratory system). No cold or hot water dispenser was provided but the front does provide hot water for you if you bring your water with you. The neighbors was a bit sketchy. Overall an ordinary stay.

Very inexpensive for a short trip where we could literally walk to everything. Yes, it’s not the greatest area, but we didn’t have any issues with anyone. We also like how there is a parking area underground, which makes it very convenient.

As long as you can cope with being in the Tenderloin area then this hotel is great - with awesome free parking-

The neighbourhood was loud and dangerous the entire night, did not feel safe at all. The facilities in the room were non-existent and the place was disgusting in terms of cleanliness. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else to stay. We checked out a day early and couldn't wait to get out of there.

Location, price, for price was ok

Neghborhood kind of sketchy. We were aware of it when going. Many homeless street people. It seemed the hotel was long term/ temporary housing and not just a hotel.

I'd love to be able to review Cathedral Hill Hotel, but I can't. I showed up to check in, they told me they were overbooked, and sent me to a sister property nearby (Rodeway Inn) which was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Spartan room, uncomfortable bed, TV was broken, no lamps, and hotel staff started loudly rebuilding a door frame right across from our room before 9am.
