St. Clair Inn

Love the location - walkable to nearby parks, shops and restaurants with live entertainment on some days, beautiful views of the river from the deck, nice pool and hot tub. When the restaurant and pub are open, it's very convenient. The staff is friendly. Hotel is pretty. Complimentary continental breakfast is included. You might want to check the website to see if the restaurant and pub will be open during your stay. We didn't and were disappointed that it was closed Sunday evening and Monday but that is no fault of the Inn, we just didn't think to check that before our stay. It seems like it's common in that area to close restaurants and some shops on Monday.

If I could change one thing it would be that we were on a higher floor with a bigger room. We did have a partial river view but it was mostly the roof that we were looking at.

The room was perfect, I wasn't walking well and my room was easy to get around from such as to my car. Having the shower was perfect for someone in my condition.

I didn't know until arriving that St Clair Inn restaurant wasn't open. Fast food in the area was plentiful but unique restaurants were not open. The fancier restaurant that was open has stairs and is not handicapped accessible. Many of the places were closed other than for alcohol consumption. As a result I ate at Burger King and enjoyed the scenery from my room that was spectacular. The grocery store in the area is very nice and it has a small diner there. I will be returning to the hotel again but am in hopes of better choices for restaurants next time.

The actual hotel was very unique and in a lovely setting.

The check in was frustrating and because the hotel was hosting 2 weddings and another event, there were a lot of families with young children and we waited over an hour before we could be checked in. We had requested a room with a river view, but our deluxe double room had no view, except of a brick wall and there was no comfy armchair in the room. Just 2 beds and a hard dining room chair. We went to have a swim in the outdoor pool, but it was totally overcrowded with families and there was no point even trying. The temperature was 90+, so this was very disappointing.

Beautiful location and architecture of hotel.

Walls were paper thin and hallways extremely noisy, doors slamming, people yelling at all hours. Didn't get any rest.

View was beautiful, clean and the pool and hot tub were an added bonus

The rooms on booking site are not the rooms we received. There is not an elevator to the third floor, this is not indicated in the booking. We traveled with two elderly individuals that could not climb the steep stairs. We were supposed to have two king beds for six travelers (2 being children). We ended up with a queen bed and king, neither were big enough for a chair, the rooms did not accommodate our party size.

Disability access room had no counter in bathroom and no mirror other than a low one for person in wheelchair. Vertical shades in bedroom never close perfectly so people outside can peep in

The staff was incredible and we loved it so much we turned a one night stay into 4. Will be back. Staff is lovely and location is amazing. Rooms are charming and beautifully decorated. 100/10
