Secure Parking, staff friendliness, breakfast, flexible wrt arrival, decent value for money, didn't unduly hear any noise from the pub, no shared bathroom, accommodated single beds.

Room was a bit hot, TV remote only worked for BBC1, bathroom was a bit tired

Dirty bar, dirty room. Light did not work in toilet/ shower room, meaning could not use shower or gave a shave. No shampoo or shower gel. No tea bags in room. Dark duvet with no sheet. Filthy cup in room with skin like deposits on rim. Colleague had half used shampoo bottle in shower implying room had not been cleaned.

Excellent location and friendly helpful staff. A good cooked breakfast. Staff responded promptly when I requested a fresh bedsheet.

Unfortunately the low score on cleanliness affected everything. I've been a housekeeper myself in an old busy building so know that old/dated can still be clean. There were long hairs in the shower and 2 used toiletry bottles left from a previous occupant. The sink was dusty and taps splattered with white, like toothpaste. (Btw the tap with a bit of red on was the cold tap and the bit of blue on the other tap was the hot one !) One of the dual flush toilet buttons didn't work but that was OK as iit still flushed. ) A lot of bits on the floor and generally dusty in the bathroom. No bin bag. I eventually found a 2nd bin in the room that looked dirty in the bottom......again no bin bag. The teaspoon still had a drink stain on it which came off with a wash. There was no socket for the bedside lamp by the bed. It would be good to hang the mirror on a wall as although not tall, I had to crouch to look in it. When I moved the pillows to turn the duvet back there were black bits on the duvet and what looked like an inch of dry grass and a smalll bit of white tissue......under the duvet were 2 long black hairs and more black bits.....so I threw the duvet back and the sheet was rumpled as if slept on.....and another long black hair at the foot. (I was assured it had been changed in the morning). The staff did promptly replace it. I could smell smoke in the room so put a pillow at the base of the door. Downstairs, just outside, people were smoking but the door was open. At breakfast the coffee serving station needed a good clean as well as the coffee pots! The score would have been 7-8 had the uncleanliness not draggd it down.

The room was quite small and the door was difficult to lock

The staff are great friendly

The rooms are in need of improvement. Carpet so dirty . Seemed the room was not cleaned prior to moving, the room was not what advertised on Booking.com very different to the booking.com photos
