"Exceptional"

The hotel provides a lot of services and complimentary items as part of your stay, it was very enjoyable. The men’s onsen had many bath options to choose from. There was a relaxation room with cold snacks for afterwards. The hotel provides tattoo covers for smaller tattoos, but if you have a big one you won’t be able to use the onsen. There were massage pods too, but I didn’t get to try it because it was always busy when I went. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and a mix of traditional Japanese as well as western style items. Would stay here again when I’m in Kyoto next.

The only complaint I had was that the room smelt a little musty. I think they should air out or sanitize the tatami mats in the rooms between each guests.

Excellent place to stay and experience a different kind of accommodation while in Kyoto, staff great, facility has a great spa service included on the booking, super clean areas and open from 3 pm to 10 am every day, I really enjoyed it a lot. Location ideal. Close to buss and metro station and a lot of restaurants to walking distance. I couldn’t be happier with this place.

Exceptionally clean! Guests are required to take off shoes before walking in the lobby. Amazing Japanese breakfast buffet and we really enjoyed the unlimited soba and matcha and all available generous amenities offered.
