Location, restaurant and friendly staff

Noisy. There was a bright light across the street. Light and noise made it difficult to sleep. No herbal tea bags available in the room.

After a nightmare motorway journey, Manager Emily scooped us up into warmth and comfort, bags taken to our room and a cosy table prepared by the fire. The advantages of the hotrl are many starting with its central location. Rooms are comfy and warm with crisp sheets and fluffy towels. Large dining and bar areas offer attractive seating, breakfast and dinner menus are varied and interesting, meals beautifully cooked AND served on hot plates (hallelujah!) However, the main advantage is the high level of service and care shown by ALL the staff we met. Congratulations to The Marlborough, well done!

If there's a hitch anywhere, it'll probably be caused by the smallish, crowded car park. Hotel staff can help you find a solution if needed. Finally, be prepared to shower in one of the smallest micro-bathrooms I've come across. Don't fret too much, it's a very small price to pay for staying at such an enjoyable hotel.

bed was extremely comfortable ,full English well cooked not greasy and very tasty, great staff helpful and polite, room no2 is right next to road so noise in daytime early evening and quiet after around 10 pm so did not effect sleep or stay.

Everything very good. Lovely old building. Staff very helpful, as I came with my bike they put it in a secure area , felt really looked after. Had a meal in the evening that was delicious and good value.

Very Friendly welcoming Staff. A Break away for my Fiancee's Birthday so it was made more special in Room 1 Delicious Evening Meal and my Fiancee loved Her Hugo Spritz Cocktail. Breakfast was lovely and the Illy Coffee was delicious! All round a very pleasant stay.

A mini fridge, Ironing Board and Iron would be good in the Room as we had a bottle of Bubbly to enjoy in our room but no way of keeping it cold. It eould have been better with Continental Buffet options aswell as the Cooked Breakfast.
