Heights House Hotel - Houston Heights Downtown, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I was so impressed by the staff, front desk was so awesome. My room was clean and fun.

The hotel Was nice had no compliant about the room until we discovered the tub had no drain and tha bathroom light went out. Also blasting music in the courtyard starting at 11 am with no people is wild.

The room was clean, bed was comfy, and customer service was amazing! The only negatives are that there was no place to hang clothes or wet towels.

I wish we could appreciate the uniqueness of the property but the lack of good amenities like a closet.. a tightly closing door and a bug zapper present in the room with plenty more bugs to go around really made it a less enjoyable stay.. no hooks to hang towels and the comfort of the bed could not be fully enjoyed with the constant paranoia of bugs, we warched the zapper flash over and over. This was not worth the price and it is not what is advertised.

I would like a full refund of my money. I left due to my guests being stuck in the feet by a nail. We all did not enjoy our stay an I would like a full refund. We didn’t stay the night at the hotel we left as soon after we got stuck by a nail.

Staff was incredibly nice, convenient location if you are going out in The Heights.

The suite was aesthetically very well designed. Nice combination of mid century modern and contemporary. The room was very clean.

Two things. The first was a small thing that wouldn’t keep me from rebooking: no outlet near the bed to charge a phone or tablet. This could easily be fixed by purchasing lamps with usb ports. The second was a huge problem. The pool was not monitored by staff at all. There were people smoking cigarettes and weed both days we were there. By 3p each day the pool was pretty full and they were not hotel guests; which wouldn’t be an issue except that they stayed partying until well after the pool closed. I finally messaged the front desk at 11 to turn the music down. People stay outside loudly partying until midnight. Clearly the neighborhood has figured out that the hotel doesn’t monitor who comes in and out and have turned it into their free neighborhood pool. Had I known I would not have spent the extra money to get the suite with the pool view facing the inner courtyard. Such a cute spot but that they allow it to become a trashy party without any regard to paying guests will keep me from booking again or recommending to my friends.

Every March there’s a music festival and Heights House was the epicenter of the festival. Those days are gone. But despite the lack of parties, management did not make sure the facilities were ready. Remodeling was still continuing during our stay. Some rooms were being worked on while customers were staying in them. My friend luckily got a room that was “ready” but the paint wasn’t even dry! Some had no mini-fridges and my room still had drywall dust on the floors and some construction worker’s half eaten pizza. Never again Heights House.
