The RYOKAN O

The staff were very kind and helpful, it is always very reassuring to me to know there are friendly staff that can help me if I need it. The room was very spacious for a single person which was also wonderful. The painted closet doors and the smell of the tatami were great too. The bathroom and showers were kept very clean despite being shared which was a relief. Also, the atmosphere downstairs in the main area was very relaxing.

While the room itself was wonderful, the futon was quite thin and hard, more than I am used to in a futon. I went on a long hike, so it was not very pleasant to sleep on such a hard surface afterwards. Additionally, the walls were quite thin so the noises of the city were very loud throughout the night, it was easy to hear the drunk people on the street. Luckily I am a deep sleeper, so once I fell asleep it wasn't an issue.

Très joli ryokan, mignon et calme. Les chambres ont beaucoup de charme et les futons apportent une vraie touche japonaise authentique. Une expérience agréable, je recommande !

The room was clean.

The location is a 30 minute bus ride to Magome. Facilities were basic. I thought it would have more of a traditional ryokan feel but other than the beds being on the floor and no furniture in the room, that was about it

It's a great place, close to the train station. They give free bread snacks in the morning, and also onigiri for a price. There's a lunch/dinner burger deal too, as well as free coffee and tea. The bathroom was shared, and so was the shower. We used it to hike from Nakatsugawa to Magome, then Tsumago, then Nagisa, which are all quite easily reachable with about 5-6~ hours of walking in about 20km hike. The room itself doesn't have much and you sleep on a Japanese mat, which isn't too bad but you shouldn't expect a feather soft experience. Overall a great experience.

The washing machine room was a bit stinky and the clothes of the drier didn't come out very dry.

Clean and comfortable The dry area of the bathroom was well sealed from the outside, hence it didnt feel very cold stepping out to the dry area to towel dry. Good quality soap, shampoo, face cleanser. Hand rubs provided within the room! Gacha upon check in for a free welcome drink

Tolle Erfahrung in einem mehr oder weniger traditionellem japanischen Ryokan zu nächtigen! Sehr sauber und wirklich super gute Lage um Nakatsugawa und den Nakasendo Trail zu entdecken.

Für die Ausstattung war der Preis relativ hoch. Man muss wissen, dass es Gemeinschaftsbäder sind und die Zimmer nur einfache Futonbetten haben. Keine Möglichkeit selbst essen zuzubereiten, sehr wenig Stauraum und keine anderweitigen bequemen Sitzmöglichkeiten.
