Moonlight Beach Motel

Great location to beach and restaurants.

Definitely needs some upgrading, especially in the bathroom.

I checked into the Moonlight Beach Motel on the spur of the moment, looking to get away for the night. The location close to Moonlight Beach is great. Given the price, I expected a dated, bare-bones hotel. I was surprised to find that it was modern (updated bathroom), comfortable (great bed) and surprisingly beautiful (you can't beat the view of the Pacific from the balcony). Best hotel for the money I have ever experienced! Did I mention that the staff were also very pleasant?

Stayed here many times because my wife and I love it. Great location. Short walk to the beach as well as to coffee shops and restaurants.

This was a very useful overnight for us prior to spending a day at the excellent San Diego Zoo Safari Park less than 15 minutes drive from here. The room was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. The motel is a short walk to the beach below which features a family feel as people gather for grilled or picnic supper and the glorious sundown. It was an excellent value and we would return here again.

The location is perfect for beach access and walking distance to everything!

What a great find ! The Moonlight Beach Motel is affordable, unpretentious, friendly, clean, comfortable and perfectly located for a visit to Encinitas beaches and town. We could walk everywhere. The view from our upstairs room (#307) was superb. There is some noise from the trains, but it’s part of being in Encinitas. We will likely stay here again when we visit Encinitas.

The location was excellent! The walk to the beach and restaurants was super easy. The staff was very good, and helpful. They have a nice bbq area.

The beds were small for tall people. Housekeeping only brought fresh towels and emptied the garbage. The sprinklers came on a few times in the morning and were loud.

A great place to stay near the beach -- 2 blocks away, and walking distance to shops and restaurants in town. Spotless, quiet and very pleasant. It's not fancy, but it has everything you need and is really nice. Really comfortable matress. No pool, but they have a pile of beach toys . your kids (or you) can borrow and carry to the sea. For me this was an odd stop, a business overnight, but will come back for a weekend away.
