Holiday Inn Express - Wells-Ogunquit-Kennebunk by IHG

I have stayed here many times. I always arrive very late in the evening or in the wee hours of the morning because I have a 12-hour drive to Wells. Check-in was very very easy, and essentially always is. There is plenty of parking and I find that there are never any issues regarding this.

Usually, the shower doors gradually and very slowly slide open (I imagine because they are a very tiny bit, like 1/2 degree off of plane), which didn't happen this time. But there was no bar soap which is a problem if you don't use body wash. The sink water pressure seemed incredibly low (not broken but beyond water-saving) to the point of being hard to brush one's teeth or wash one's face. There also seemed to be a TV "upgrade" with like a million channels and a bit painfully challenging to navigate. There wasn't just a very large channel choice; there was a choice aimed at pleasing everyone on the planet, maybe in the universe. I slept fine and it was reasonably quiet and the breakfast while very very very routine and standard for Holiday Inn Express literally everywhere these were neither particular likes or dislikes since they are to be expected. Obviously I will stay there again, but these were real, disappointing and unusual issues at this location.

Because I did appreciate our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Wells, I will attempt a second review, the first was eaten by my computer when I attempted to send it. For the past year we planned our 60th reunion. Chose this inn because of a recommendation from Vermont friends who often stay here. We were not disappointed. The Inn is well cared for and set up for a comfortable visit. The rooms were clean and airy. The pool relaxing after a perfectly grilled lunch at one of the restaurants suggested by Inn staff. I can't say enough about the friendliness and patience of ALL the staff we meet. They truly cared for 4 old, still unorganized, women. Their kindness allowed our gathering to be special... something we will talk about in the years to come. Oh, I forgot the well presented breakfast where we spend time talking and talking and eating.

Can't think of anything I didn't like. Again, the staff really make this inn a wonderful place to stay.

The breakfast was good but had to wait for the staff to put more food out. They weren’t on top of it. Location was convenient.

The building has very little sound proof. We were on second floor and it sounded like elephants walking above us. Walls must be paper thin as you could hear people clearly talking & laughing. I suggest bring ear plugs if you stay here.

- Oft war beim Frühstück irgend etwas leer - wurde erst zu spät ausgefüllt, sodass man oft bis zu 12 Minuten warten musste - extrem hohe Preise, wofür keine Leistung erbracht wurde - trotz Zimmerservice und Preise um die 400€ pro Nacht, wurden die Betten nicht gemacht und das Zimmer nicht gereinigt. Der Hinweis wurde ignoriert und nicht beachtet. - im Vergleich zu anderen Holiday Inn eher enttäuschend - es wurde eine Rechnung angefordert - jedoch wurde keine ausgestellt und einem auch keine zugesendet, so wie eigentlich vereinbart.
