Casas da Baixa - Lighthouse Apartments

Beautiful apartment with an ace location. We walked everywhere. So many cafes, restaurants, attractions nearby. Loved our stay.

The location is perfect!

The good part is the location if you want to be in the center of the action. Many restaurants, shops, and sites within walking distance. The apartment was spacious, but with sparse furnishings. Living room has futon couch. It was made up as a bed which we didn’t need. We had to make it into a couch to have somewhere to sit. Some maintenance is needed. Walls were scratched up and need paint. Shower head was loose and held with tape. This place is a good price for the location, but could use some TLC.

I loved our stay at Casas De Baixa. It was our home away from home. We slept so well and the amenities were great! The washer and dryer were a bit difficult to operate, but it got the job done.

Close to everything, communication great, and safe property.

Lots of good things at this property: great location close to lots of restaurants, metro, grocery store, etc. Also, lots of great natural sunlight coming into the unit. The large dual pane windows allow you to be right in the heart of things, and still get a great night's sleep. The building upgrades were nice: elevator, high ceilings, very modern kitchen with great appliances & washing machine.

Our 1-bedroom unit did NOT have the lovely opening balcony doors shown in the photos. The unit was large & sunny, but the furniture is minimal & the butterfly chair is not comfortable. The cheap Teflon frying pan was so badly scratched, it was unsafe. We could only make hard boiled eggs for breakfast. It's a corporation, so no real attention to the small details that make a rental feel like home. Our correspondence with the management company was not good. We prepaid over $1,400 for this rental, and just before arriving we received an email saying we must pay the visitor tax to a 3rd party website, & upload our passports, in advance, or we will not receive the entry codes to our rental. But their links to the 3rd party website did not work. It took 2 full days to finally sort it out with them, just as we were heading to Lisbon. But to threaten that you will not be allowed access to your rental, when when you have already paid them $1,400? How unkind! We asked if we could pay it when we arrived, but the answer was no, because they have no staff there. It added a lot of stress to our vacation that we could have done without. The apartment was nice enough, but I would not rent from this company again.

We liked that the unit was spacious and bright and close to sights. We liked that you had a washer in the unit but having a few laundry pods would have made a great difference! Also adding a couple of kitchen towels would help. The pillows we initially had hardly any filling but the extra pillows given later were better. A few extra touches like this would go a long way in really making the place comfortable for your guests.
