Loved the traditional house and neighborhood. Felt like a local. Very well appointed and comfortable. Our favorite part of our trip to Japan was Takayama and Hida House. Walking distance to everything. Lovely town. Hope to return.

The location was fantastic. Great house to have your own rooms for a family to sleep and each have our own space.

Needed to keep going to laundromat to dry washing and towels as the washing machine did not dry clothes and clothes horse provided was tiny.

This is a charmingly authentic Japanese home which is carefully presented. Very comfortable ( beautiful towels).

So lovely to stay in a house and enjoy all the amenities after hotel rooms. Loved being able to make drip coffee and toast for breakfast. Bed is very comfortable. Also loved the kotatsu table with blanket and heating for reading. Washing machine very handy and plenty of hanging devices. With the heat on, clothes dried pretty quickly. The location is excellent and close walk to old town. Try the sushi restaurant, Sushi Sho, right by the house. Intimate with only a few seats at the bar and delicious. Center4 Hamburgers has amazing burgers and a really cool vibe. Go early to Miagawa markets before they run out of stock - the food is amazing.

It was perfect. Be sure to close every room to maximise heating. The corridor is freezing but the rooms will be warm.
