Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Downtown

This hotel had a mesmerizing scent when walking inside. The lobby is on the second floor, so you’re greeted to elevator doors. The staff were friendly and attentive when we asked for help. The room was pretty spacious and the bathroom had a modern feel. The only thing I will say is I had to request hand soap,as it was not in the bathroom when I needed it. Also visiting the hotel bar and restaurant, I had to find someone to call for service. No one was in the forefront of the bar/ restaurant.

I stayed in room 815 during a business trip. Overall, the room was decent, but there was a serious problem with the air conditioning. The unit was loud, the vent rattled all night, and the room never really cooled down. The valet service was my biggest complaint and the main reason I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. Even when I requested my car 30 minutes in advance, I still had to wait for the driver to bring it around. The hotel wasn’t busy, but the valet service was still very slow. Tipping the valet well didn’t improve the experience, and I was disappointed by the attitude of the older valet attendant. For business travel, I would choose a different location next time.
