It's an insanely bad location. With homeless shelter near by. Just walking out of the hotel in the night feels like inviting trouble. There's no parking. You have to pay 55$ for valet parking. And they say you can do street parking but looking at the streets it's just very risky to park there. The layout of the room isn't good either.

Loved the style of the hotel and the staff was nothing but kind! Beds were okay as far as comfort, rooms are incredibly noisy or at least ours was (219). I understand it being in a city but dang those walls were thing

Very nice clean rooms

Bad neighborhood, extremely loud in the room, even on the top floor. Old single pain windows that don’t block any sound. Was charged $100 per fee. Wasn’t clear when booking on booking.com that we’d be charged that

Nice location and staff.

I requested that my room be cleaned on both days when I was checking in. The hotel did not clean the room at all. Using protecting the environment to cut costs has become the trend in this industry now :-(

Just finished a four night stay at the Hotel Grand Stark. What a nice place to relax in Portland. Our room was lovely. Super comfortable bed and nice amenities. The staff was so lovely both friendly and helpful. We felt so welcome. There were several delicious restaurants within walking distance and it was so convenient to public transportation which we took all over Portland. We would definitely stay here again.
