Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas, a Hyatt Resort

I have traveled all over the world and this hotel is great. It is advertised adult only and that is great. One day, kids were in the pool. The staff kindly asked the parents to watch the kids. But overall, the food is excellent, rooms clean and the service and staff 👌

The place was amazing. However, the privacy on the fire pit area did not exist. They need to put some kind of barrier between the patios like bamboo stocks. The food in the restaurant was outstanding in the view was amazing. Would definitely come back. They should’ve had blankets already in the rooms for the patio area instead of have to call and get them delivered. Small touches add a lot.

I needed a place to get away. This was ideal! You could be happy spending your entire day on the balcony; however, the beach, poolside, and close locations to shops/restaurants is an added bonus. Great customer service. Now that I've been I would make sure to ask for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor as the first floor is right near the walking path of guests and people going to the beach, not as much privacy.

We visited the Alila August 2025 to celebrate belated birthdays, spending time with family and celebrating health and life. The hotel itself is beautiful, with views of the beach. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and John at the check in desk made our experience so amazing - from checking in, to making reservations for us at Vega and surprising us with an amazing dinner. The staff at the restaurant were so nice and the food was so delicious! Thank you to everyone that made our stay so special! We will definitely be visiting again.

Restaurant, bar excellent. Friendly staff. Nice facility. Better beach amenities and service needed. Rooms lovely, patio and fire pits are xcellent.

The position, accommodation.

The beach service… concierge was poor. Never around. No drinks offered. Poor chairs. Small pool area

Even though the hotel is nice (view is nice and all) nothing is as advertised. While it claims to be an adult only hotel (even gotten an email after booking) kids were at the pool screaming. While it is claimed that the hotel is a ,calm, environment- the music at the pool is too loud and people are allowed to use their own speakers. There is not enough room at the pool for all guests- we were told to go down to the beach- to have chairs and an umbrella set up. There were no more chairs and umbrellas available… Not coming back again and cannot recommend… disappointing…

Everything was excellent as advertised.

Excellent property with a very nice pool that was relaxing to hang out during our whole stay. Really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach which was a really nice 5-10 minute walk down from the hotel.

Beautiful location. The ocean views are stunning. What stood out the most is the service. Always greeted with a smile and a "yes" You can tell the employees all work as a team. You feel welcomed and like a valued guest.
