Bright and comfortable room with kitchen and laundry, like a small apartment

I didn't like having to send sensitive personal info online in advance. The security guard at the door could have done the ID check.

My wife and I stayed here for the Detroit Free Press Marathon, and the location was right on point. The 9 mile mark was right outside of the hotel. We had a studio on the 9th floor which wasn't bad. The only problem we had with the room was there was a plate that wasn't fully clean, but everything else was fine. To note, the shower is very, very small. There isn't much room to move around in it. After reading the reviews of about Sonder I had some mixed feelings before staying. Upon arrival it is just as people have said outside, there are a lot of homeless people around the area. There is a parking lot across the street with in and out privileges which was good. One thing that we did notice is that there weren't many restaurant choices close but we made do. Overall, it was a good stay for the price and we will likely stay there again.

The location is terrible. I arrived at night and I was terrified. Very unsafe and nobody there to open the door you have to open with a code

The room was beautifully designed and recently renovated, well-equipped, and situated right in the heart of downtown Detroit — within walking distance of everything. It was clean, spacious, and overall just about perfect.

It was clean and I liked how it had a kitchen for you to use.

The people that would be roaming outside by the building made me feel a bit unsafe.
