Apple Tree Inn

Firstly if you are going to Tanglewood, this is the spot.. right across the street. It’s perfect for that. The walk back would include a pretty good hill in the dark. In fact, if hills or stairs are hard for you this is not the place. Lovely setting. Main building plus two lodges with a bunch of rooms. Very nice pool with Mountain Views. Continental breakfast is great.,yogurt fruit, fresh muffins, hard boiled eggs, various toasts, coffee, tea, juice.. nice. There’s a nice dining area with evening music that we never got a chance to experience. Room in one of the lodges was just a room. Noisy wall AC. A second chair would have been nice. No fridge. Coffee maker is on first floor. It’s a keurig for everyone to use. Bathroom was fine, water pressure etc good. Tiniest shampoo bottles ever and hard to get the shampoo out. We weren’t even looking there 2 nights and there was no toiletry replacemt or garbage clearing etc. Seems like the room charge is the same each night so you should get new shampoo. ~$380 per night. There f course is an envelope in the room for the expected tip for the cleaner. There is a modest refrigerator in the hall that everyone is supposed to use. It was so full there was no room left.. don’t know if this was new food or not. The cream for the Keurig was supposed to be in there but I couldn’t find it. It rained our first night and the porch seat pads nearest the railing were all wet. This must have happened before so you would think they might be moved if rain is expected. In the morning people kept coming out and trying to find a dry cushion with almost no luck. It’s a nice place in a terrific location..so if you are going to Tanglewood this is a great choice…needs a bit more TLC.

I loved the pool and the wonderful view from the pool. I felt very safe here and there was an overall sense of being welcomed.

The Ostrich Room at the Apple Tree Inn is so special. The Mountain Views are magnificent. The food is excellent and the hand cut French fries are fabulous. There is music on the weekends and better yet…. You can eat at the Apple Tree Inn, leave your parked car, and walk across the street to Tanglewood! This is a real hidden gem in the Berkshires!

Perfect location to Tanglewood. Beautiful location. Nice pool. Breakfast served. Friendly staff!

Dated. Keep your country style, but with some refreshing updates, like newer mattress, less chunky furniture, nicer AC. Under beds needed a better cleaning.
