Apple Tree Inn

My friends and I wanted a getaway to a relaxing place that had soft beds and great food. We found it at the Apple Tree Inn. I'm fussy about beds and bedding and the ATI did not disappoint -- very soft cozy sheets and nice supportive pillows. I'm also particular about water pressure and temperature for my showers. Both were on the money. My room also had a lovely view of the beautiful trees and the turning leaves. The Ostrich Room (the bar) was great. I love a good glass of cabernet and found the selection on the drinks menu to be wonderful. My friends also gave big thumbs up to the craft cocktails and the beer. The brunch restaurant, Baladi, was delicious. I love Mediterranean food and gorged on it. Note that the ATI is not far from downtown Lenox and there's wonderful shopping to be found in the local shops. We did some damage there. Oh, did I mention that Tanglewood is right across the road! There's also a beautiful nature walk path that leads to the Stockbridge bowl/lake. The owner, Claire Collery, was so warm and welcoming. She and the staff were attentive to our needs and were fun to talk to. It was a great weekend that I'd gladly do again.

This was an absolutely quaint and beautiful in, with wonderful owners, both of which we met during our stay. There is a beautiful small pub that had live music and wonderful food, so we never had to leave The in for dinner. Our room was immaculately, clean, And we will absolutely be back here.

So I read a lot of bad reviews on here before we came and was a bit concerned, but the point is, you need to know what you’re booking when you book it. This is a bed and breakfast, not a high end hotel. It is quaint, adorable, the grounds have beautiful views and the Sunday brunch was on point. The chef and his wife were incredible. Saturday night music was also on point and bar service was top notch. We didn’t eat dinner there, but I heard from other guests it was also really good. A few things to note when you book - there is a lodge that houses most of the rooms. This is because again, this is an “inn” or “bed and breakfast”. The main house can’t accommodate a ton of guests which makes sense. The lodge is very minimalist rooms. There isn’t any charm or character to them, but beds are comfy and it’s clean. I read reviews saying rooms weren’t clean but ours was great (and I’m picky). We weren’t in Lenox to stay in our room, plus the main house amenities were still fully utilized by us so I could have cared less about staying in the lodge versus main house. There’s Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and a pool at this property making it even more cozy and quaint. It’s close to downtown Lenox, but you’ll still probably need a vehicle - we did. Downtown is super cute with shops and restaurants. I’m so glad we stayed at Apple Tree Inn!

This lovely historic property has very pretty grounds a nice pool area & gorgeous views. The lobby is cozy, comfortable & welcoming and the continental breakfast was delicious. We had dinner in The Ostrich Room, their restaurant, and the food and cocktails were delicious. Unfortunately, I think they must have been short staffed because the wait for our food was excessive. We stayed in the Arlo Suite on the 3rd floor (no elevator). It was a dated but roomy, clean and the beds were comfortable. It's the top floor with lots of sharp attic roof angles so definitely not a space for anyone tall. We are all about 5'4" & we had to watch our heads. The sitting area has a loveseat couch but could use another chair.

On Wednesday nights in October Colby Lewis play with one of his partners. Great music and great food. We had been to Apple Tree when the previous owners ran it and this was a far superior experience. The new owner Claire is really working hard to make sure guests have a wonderful experience!
