Numa Madrid Script

I recently stayed here and had a truly awful experience. The biggest issue was the falsely advertised air conditioning. Despite booking a room specifically listed as air-conditioned, the AC in my room simply did not function. This made the room unbearably hot and uncomfortable. I immediately contacted the front desk, where I was assured that a technician would be sent to fix the issue. No technician ever came. I followed up multiple times and was told I would receive a call from a supervisor, but that also never happened. Feeling misled and frustrated, I requested a full refund due to this being a case of false advertising. Sadly, I received no response whatsoever. The combination of the broken AC, false promises about repairs, and nonexistent customer service made for a miserable stay. I strongly advise that the hotel listing be updated to accurately reflect the lack of working air conditioning, or, preferably, that the problem be fixed immediately. I'm extremely disappointed by this experience and hope that sharing my feedback will prevent other travelers from having a similarly negative stay. Never stay here. Pay 20-30 euros more, stay in a proper hotel.

First, I'll say the good stuff: the location is perfect and it was ok clean - if we don't count the small gnats flying around in the tiny bathroom. The room is pretty small. There's no stuff in the "hostel" - as I said in the subject, this is not a hotel by any means -. There's a lot of construction in the street and they don't even mention anything when you make the reservation and they assign that leads to the street. They had the delicacy of leaving two sets of ear plugs in the nightstand. All the communications with the customer service are via WhatsApp...by the way, THERE'S NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, it's a robot that basically tells you non stop sorry for the inconvenience. If you need to work while you are in Madrid or you want to stream some TV, well, find a coffee shop or any other place with a better wifi than your room.

I only write reviews when the experience is really good, or really poor -- on this occasion this was really poor. The room on first glance looks well designed, but many issues to note -- first of all, the room name 'panoramic' is a mis-representation of the offer, this would typically mean dual aspect floor to ceiling windows for a full view. Secondly the wifi did not work for 48 hours, which is almost all of my trip -- the customer service did not even believe me, suggesting nobody else had reported it. It was complete gaslighting, as I asked others in the kitchen area and they were using hotspots, because it was down. This was a big issue, as I had work calls and needed a stable connection. Thirdly, the shower is designed so you have to hold it when using it. You cannot have a relaxing handsfree shower. I believe this was intentionally installed to save water costs, but it creates a really poor experience -- especially if you have any form of disability. I reported this, but they did not care. Finally, the amenities (shower gel, shampoo) were empty when I arrived and given the lack of any care in other respects had to buy my own -- don't expect they will be filled for you. I would avoid Numa at all costs -- aside from a very comfortable bed, the offer is very weak and will leave you disappointed. The customer service is horrific -- but then again, as I see it's a German company it's commonplace in Germany to offer cold and empty support, perhaps this is the real root of the problem. Avoid.

Super clean. High quality finishes. Would stay again. Only for those comfortable self check-in. Check your spam folder for required check in-info!

Everything was wonderful

This hotel is well located, close to the main landmarks and attractions. It was clean, they give some beers for free so that was nice. The breakfast I ordered was decent. I recommend this hotel for sure.

Positives: clean, conveniently located, cheap General: small space which for me was not an issue but might be for some Negatives: small shower which was an issue for me, no one on site to talk to (but then again, it is cheap) Essentially this place is like a average of a hostel and a hotel.

Clean. Provide dining room and kitchen. Get breakfast (payable). Welcome drink and snack.

After looking at the hotel and reviews online we couldn’t wait to get to Numa… however when we arrived it was nothing like what we expected. When you get to the ‘hotel’ there is no clear signage so we were left wondering around trying to figure out where it was. We finally got to the door where you have to do everything yourself I.e put codes in, get the lift to the 7th floor, put another code etc. it’s also worth mentioning there are no staff around anywhere. Once we got to the room we couldn’t beleive how small it was… unliveable. My husband could barely fit in the bed and didn’t shower for the night because it was so small he couldn’t even fit in there. No wardrobe, the toilet stank, no towels, horrendous! Like a prison cell. For what we paid it was definitely not worth it. We tried to talk to management but there was no one available so we had to wait until the morning, she didn’t listen to any of our feedback and refused to refund us even though it definitely was not as advertised. No one cleaned or made our bed after the first night or even gave the room a once over, also no breakfast or option to have breakfast. We moved to a different hotel after the first night which was so much nicer and there were actual staff around to help!! This hotel is not a hotel it should be under a host. DO NOT SYAY HERE… SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
