Terlingua Ranch Lodge

The pool was nice and the hill behind the house.

This accommodation is not suitable for visiting Big Bend (or other attractions). It is far too remote, adding an extra 45 minutes one way (!) to any journey—along a dusty, rough road where you can only drive about 5 mph. The walls between the apartments are very thin—you can even hear the neighbors snoring. For a daytime stay, however, it’s nice—quiet, with hardly anyone around, and a pleasant pool.

Location, restraunt, location, proximity to big bend. The wildlife, birds song in the mornings. Clean rooms clean beds clean linens. Dinner at the Bad Rabbit Cafe was great. Good coffee in restaurant. I reserved rooms 49 and 50. Room 49 was very nice walls wolf decor. The room smelled great very clean lots of pillows. Cooled quickly. Room 50 was nice but not nearly as nice. Room 50 was very simple with one pillow to each bed. No cute wall murals, but it did have pictures of succulents. This room also cooled quickly. Small provided fridge worked great in both rooms. My dog loved it here.

Directions to location should just say turn off all maps and follow Terlingua Ranch Rd the paved part all the way till it ends in dirt. Then stay on dirt straight to signs point to lodge office. Do not follow any directions that deviate from that road. Both GPS and Google maps directed us down pointless dirt roads that all led right back to the road we were on. No coffee makers in rooms.

The property is located at convenient location from big bend national park.

The road that leads to lodge (last ~3 miles) could have been better, its unpaved currently.

Friendly staff. Dark skies. Beds were comfy.

Bathroom needs updating. Thin walls and could people in next room.
