Terlingua Ranch Lodge

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was fabulous. If you want to take photos of stars, this is the spot.

On one hand, they offer wireless internet and a fridge in the room. On the other hand, there is no TV or coffee maker (or microwave) in the rooms. Make up your mind, guys. Either we're roughing it here, or we're not.

Secluded, quiet, peaceful with restaurant and a mini shop close by.

lodge까지 진입하는 도로가 비포장이라 세단의 경우는 10mil/h정도로 두고 가야 했고 진입로에서만 대략 20분 정도 걸렸다.

Toplocatie. Allermooiste is dat het hier savonds echt donker is. Zoveel sterren had ik nog nooit gezien. Zelfs de melkweg was zichtbaar. Huisje was sober maar schoon en netjes.

Enige minpuntje is dat de huisjes wat gehorig zijn.

Loved the location. That night sky! Wow! The room was pretty bare bones but it was clean and comfortable. Our cabin faced the east so we didn't have to worry with the afternoon sun and very much enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings. The employees we chatted with were friendly and answered questions with ease.

We had to pay for a motel one night because a rain storm blocked off access to the one road (not the lodge's fault) into the lodge for hours. We tried to use the pool but it was ice cold (not the lodge's fault) and full of bugs. Just the wrong time of year, I suppose, temperature-wise. The last 3 miles of the one road is wash-boarded and sucks so bad. It takes so long to go 3 miles. We would likely stay somewhere else if we do a return trip, just because of this.
