Clear Sky Resorts - Grand Canyon - Unique Sky Domes

Room were incredible! Comfortable, romantic, great shower, lounger as well as chair and ottoman! Bed was out of this world comfortable. Our room was on the cold side as the heater was not able to get us to a comfortable temperature (just meant more snuggling). The staff was incredible, everyone. We ate one night at the restaurant and it was awesome. The Stargazing with Chad might have been the highlight of our stay as this young man was incredibly engaging and the hour experience was more than worth the cost. We toured Bryce Canyon over two days while staying here and cannot speak enough about this National Park.

I had high hopes after watching videos about Clear Sky resorts online. Talk about disappointing - giving 1 star is a stretch. Where do I begin? Negatives: 1. Check-in young lady was rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming. I was amazed she was permitted to behave that way with the manager who was within earshot. 2. The dome itself smelled like plastic when we walked in. That odor continued throughout our stay. 3. The clear portion of the dome was old, dirty, and in need of repair or replacement. You could barely see outside through them. 4. The "beds" up in the loft (billed as a queen bed and single bed) were simply mattresses on the floor. I honestly wondered if/how they changed the sheets. 5. Heat/air conditioning inconsistent and hard to manage. 6. Food not all that good. 7. The distance from the Grand Canyon- 35 minutes! When we purchased this package at a fundraiser, it sounded like you were right at the Grand Canyon entrance. But even their website makes it look like you are in close proximity to the canyon. You are not. 8. There is nothing nice at all about the grounds. You pretty much are in the desert with nothing but ugly landscape and other domes around you. 9. There were 4 of us in the dome - but only 2 outdoor chairs on the patio. We had to move chairs from inside to the patio so we could all sit outside. Positives: 1. The employees in the restaurant were the nicest people and tried to be most accommodating (they should move them to the front desk!). 2. The bathroom and shower were a decent size. Bottom line - I would absolutely not go back. Save the exorbitant fee they charge for a stay here and put it toward a hotel closer to the canyon.

Wir hatten dieses Hotel gebucht, danach haben wir ein Email erhalten, dass vor Ort eine Baustelle ist und das Restaurant Montag und Dienstag nicht offen ist, zum Essen müsste man zur Tankstelle fahren 20 Min Fahrzeit!! Wir haben dieses Information Email 2 Mal erhalten! Als wir die Stornierung vornehmen wollten und eine Rückerstattung beantragten, ist der Manager auf nichts eingegangen und hat uns natürlich auch nicht zurück erstattet. Das finden wir einfach unprofessionell und nicht Kundenfreundlich! Wenn ihr von Las Vegas kommt, macht ein Rundflug mit dem Helikopter es kostet viel weniger und erspart euch diese lange Reise!!

We stayed at Clearsky Bryce Canyon. The sky was gorgeous, there was a lot of stars and a solid view of the Milky Way. The dome itself was cool, especially closing the bottom curtains and opening the dome top curtains. We slept like that each night, it really was lovely to lay in bed and gaze up at that dark sky sprinkled heavily with stars. The grounds were easily navigated and appealling. The staff was nice. The dome accommodations were not as good as I'd hoped for. The bed was ok, no issues; however there wasn't a top sheet on the bed. Comforters/duvets arent washed between guests so not having a top sheet grossed me out a bit. The dome was extremely hot during the day and very cold at night and the mini split system installed had a hard time heating and cooling the temp shift. The front desk staff advised to blast AC when we left to hike for the day because the domes got very hot during the day. The system froze up from the 64 degree AC setting and at night when we used the heat, while we were sleeping, a bunch of ice came flying out of it. We didnt use the heat the rest of the night. It was to late and I was too tired to get it looked at so we just dealt, plus we checked out next day so I didn't want to bother. The operation of the heat, skylight and other stuff in the room needed 4 different remotes and an instruction manual to operate, it was a small pain. The bathroom was a bit worn out - fixtures that didnt work great, the toilet clean but smelled awful, I was thinking maybe they cant use a decent disinfectant because of septic?? I wasn't expecting The Ritz, but I do feel like the cost per night was overpriced. The restaurant was just ok. The servers were nice, and it was convenient after a long day hiking, but the quality/food itself was not worth the cost - the worst food our whole 10 days between Bryce and Zion and it was very overpriced. So definitely not a glowing review for the accommodations themselves, but the sky was truly breathtaking. I view my stay as a one time thing. Check it out if you're looking for a unique experience with a beautiful night sky. Just know the rooms themselves and restaurant are just okay.

I was really disappointed with my stay. The photos online are very misleading and don’t show the real condition of the place. Everything is poorly maintained and looks quite neglected. We stayed in a dome for five people, but three spots were in the ceiling area with very little space and mattresses placed directly on the floor. It was extremely cold inside, and the heating system was not only ineffective but also very noisy, making it hard to sleep. The canvas cover of the domes were dirty. The food was also quite bad — definitely not worth the price. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The only good thing is the view of the stars in the night

The domes are spacious and well equipped but not well maintained. The small things that didn’t work really impacted our ability to enjoy our stay. 1) heat went off some time during the night and we were scrambling to get it back on at 5am in freezing cold, 2) one of the curtains was broken so we couldn’t get the full panoramic view we were there to enjoy and also had an opening in curtains that caused light to come in at sunrise, 3) exterior light by deck stairs was out and not fixed even after we reported it at dinner. Restaurant was good (both breakfast and dinner) and restaurant service was excellent. All in all, not a great stay.
