Village Hotel Southampton Eastleigh

The location was very good and bright and welcoming, once inside again bright but the further you went in it became darker especially in the corridors and rooms with very little to no naturally light. We were there for the Take That concert and we chose there as it was central location and easy to get into town and stadium. The bed’s were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nice, what you get for a buffet style help yourself, there was plenty of items/choice and it was hot. There was a very nice waitress who was very friendly, pleasant, polite and extremely helpful, she kept checking in with us making sure everything was ok and nothing was too much trouble even going to the trouble to get me a decaf coffee, we never got her name but I feel she was a supervisor level.

The bathroom setup is a little bizarre especially as they have glass doors and the only window in the room. The privacy aspect of the open toilet /bathroom is rather strange especially as many people go to these places with friends and work colleagues and even in relationships especially new ones where you might not want to see each other h other having a wash/shower least of all using the toilet. The rooms are looking a bit tired and dated, the wallpaper is of a textured finish which gathers the bust and ours where very dusty, the paint work needs a refresh (I know you can help if people knock or catch the walls but surely some one in check the conditions say every couple of months would help as our walls where disgusting. The carpet all be it dark had stains and was dirty in parts especially the corners. There was only one big towel each wasn’t enough, the quilts are too thick for some people (me) especially in the hot summer, either thinner quilt or perhaps a sheet or a thin blanket. The tea/coffee selection in our room wasn’t full, there was two coffees and a couple of tea bags, there never seemed to be anyone around to ask, the glasses/plastic cups were grubby and cracked. As above the worst thing is of a hotel in the 21st century would have decaffeinated coffee even if its out of a jar it’s still decaf. To not have any in the rooms is bad enough but not to have it in the coffee machine but still no packets buy the coffee machine please is disgusting. Many people can’t drink or have caffeine as it makes the I’ll or they have an intolerance to it causing migraines etc (which I do) and as the designated driver I couldn’t risk having a normal coffee. There is more complaints but ran out of room.

Facilities, food, beer, parking, EV charging, major shown sports in bar, darts.

Good hotel for the one night I was there. Handy for boats or trains.Alot of cruise people there.

i thought the rooms very very compact for the price I paid but I was only staying for 1 night due to attending the Take That concert at the stadium so my room did the job I required as it was clean etc. Had I been staying more than 1 night I may have been more disappointed with the size of room.

Good location. Nice restaurant and bar and Starbucks was a bonus.

The room was filthy, dust everywhere, the tray with the kettle and tea/coffee was really dirty. Kettle was filthy. There is a glass door between the bathroom and bedroom which doesn’t lock and is not frosted. Woken early morning by loud music, shouting and banging of equipment from the gym below. Cars parking in blue badge spaces without blue badges and no enforcement of that.

It was easy to find and not too noisy

It was just like a travelodge (only marginally better) was put into a wheelchair accessible room which was not needed or asked for. The bathroom literally flooded as the drains had not been cleaned out in what looked like ages

Great time at the Village as always, can't go wrong with Starbucks and the sports bar (Corona on tap!). Young lad called Toby served us, great attitude and great conversation.

We stayed for 1 night with friends before a cruise - check in was fairly smooth, though be aware that parking is a £5 extra (per 24 hrs) if you book a standard room. It's free with 'club' rooms. The room itself was great with a massive, comfy bed and everything we needed. We had dinner in the ground floor restaurant which was very good. We all had burgers which were delicious with huge portions. It was nice and lively too with a good atmosphere, which isn't always the case with hotel restaurants. Top tip - when checking in you can buy £30 dining credit for £25, and then can charge dinner to the room - saving a bit of cash. Finally, we had a game of darts using their interactive darts boards (think along the lines of Flight Club). This was a highlight and so fun! There are lots of darts-based minigames and a series of cameras to score automatically and take some funny slo-mo videos of us playing. It worked well & in my opinion is a bargain at £5 each for an hour. We would definitely stay again! Thanks so much.
