The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos

Best beaches, best service, best island in the Caribbean. My man Mikey was the absolute highlight of our trip. Best drink maker on the island!!! He went above and beyond, and shared with us a personal letter that we will keep forever. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special!

We were recently in Turks for a friend's birthday and could not have been happier with our experience at the Ritz, particularly the Casino at the Ritz. The staff was so wonderful and gracious. I'd single out one of the waiters at the Ritz, Djey. He took care of us during our time in Turks and he was so personable and engaging. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He would even let us know when he was going on break and who was stepping in for him in case we needed anything. People like Djey, are the reason we come back to Turks again and again. He made a fun week even more special.

Our experience at this hotel in Turks and Caicos was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived the (check in took forever), the service was far below what you would expect—especially for a resort in such a beautiful location. Every time we asked for something, the staff seemed bothered or inconvenienced, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout our stay. Simple requests took far too long, and the overall attitude was dismissive rather than helpful. We had to put up and down our umbrellas all day and the staff just stared at us. The umbrellas were very tricky to put up. This hotel looks tired, it was more of a Westin than a Ritz. We chose this hotel hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway, but the poor service overshadowed everything else. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not return and cannot recommend this property until they make significant improvements in staff training, hospitality, and basic guest service. They were cleaning the pool tiles with a powerful chlorine smell while we were trying to enjoy our swim time. It made us so sick. They would blow the pathway off with sand right into us in the mid day. People would annoy you up and down the beach selling everything above the sun! Necklaces, Watersports, Massages....it was non stop. This is not Ritz service.

We had another incredible trip to Turks and another great experience at the casino. It was made all the more special by the service we received from the staff. I would particularly single out our waiter Djey. He is an absolutely incredible host and could not have made us feel more welcome. It was the first time to Turks for some of our friends and they were equally impressed. Djey went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. He has an incredible energy and is super enthusiastic. He is one of the reasons that we love Turks and will be back as soon as possible.

The Ritz-Carlton Turks & Caicos is a beautiful property and it’s conveniently located next to local restaurants/supermarkets, which made getting around and exploring very easy. The check-in process was painfully long and despite arriving before several other guests, we watched others receive their room keys and head up before us. We initially thought it was an oversight on their part but the check-in was again painfully long when we went back to the resort a year later. The overall service (check-in, room/pool service, restaurants) is slow.

We had a wonderful stay at the Residences. The only frustration we experienced was the lack of cooperation at Red Hospitality on the beach (the group who facilitates guest use of the complimentary water activities - kayaks, SUPs, Hobie Cats). This group always had an excuse as to why my daughters and I could not use the equipment ("We are painting the shack," "The water is tough rough," "It is too windy."). These were calm waters with light breezes. Thank goodness for Frantzcino "Reeses" Resias! He assisted us in taking out a Stand-Up Paddle board enabling us to enjoy this complimentary service. It should not take a security guard to do the job of the Red Hospitality workers who did not seem to want to be troubled with doing their job. Ritz - you should have a firm talk with the group managing your water activities. Reeses saved the day for you this time.... but I am sure there are many other guests that have experienced the same as we have with Red Hospitality on the beach.

Off the Charts! First of all, location is fabulous! The entirely island is as safe as can be bc the people are the loveliest Christians in the world. The people all over the Caribbean are wonderful, but they are especially so, here on Turks & Caiços. Just so friendly, so generous of spirit, so kind— they are the reason we had the best vacation! The PEOPLE. It’s smack in the middle of the best beach, similar to 7 mile beach on Grand Cayman which is so lovely to be able to take nice long walks on the magnificent and pristinely fine sand. I love all of the Caribbean people! The Turks & Caiços people worked so hard and they were so loving and kind!!! I just love them!

Our stay at the Ritz Carlton in Turks and Caicos was absolutely wonderful. Beach is exceptional and weather was great, but it’s the staff that make this place an A+. Catering to your every need, and doing it with a smile. Thank you Latoya, JP, and the rest of the staff for your kindness.
