Purple Thistle Hot Tub Lodge 32 Cameron, St Andrews

Lovely lodge and nice resort.

Whilst we knew the twin room wasn’t standard bed size the room felt very tight for two teenage boys. The sofa in the lounge wasn’t particularly comfortable The power tripped a couple of times which would have been difficult to sort apart from the fact my husband is handy with stuff like that.

Location is beautiful

Photos don’t do justice to just how small the bedrooms and bathrooms are. The corridor, and all the bedrooms are absolutely tiny. Beds are too small to be comfortable for normal sized adults. Advertised as a lodge, but is a single width static caravan.

Location was great, property was lovely inside. Always felt very comfortable during our stay.

I wouldn’t say there was anything we didn’t like. One small critique would be lack of a washing machine. I think that would encourage a longer stay, especially with kids

Location near to St Andrews. Hot tub was good

Small (only comparing this to a lodge we had stayed in last year at Stewart’s resort, which was only a two bedroom but was much more spacious than this lodge). There was also no washing machine/tumble dryer, no dishwasher, no shower gels/shampoo, no bin liners, tiny amount of fairy liquid. All Of which we had in the other lodge, so didn’t expect to have to bring any. The lodge was also cold, no where to hang up towels from Hot tub, so it was very difficult to get anything dried. I also think in the other lodge we had robes for the hot tub, which is a lot more practical.

Very clean lodge and well equipped. Ken was very friendly and helpful.

Hot tub jets weren't working on first night and we lost power the second night. Both issues were eventually resolved but it took a few phonecalls before they were sorted. It's nor really a lodge, more like a caravan but still comfortable.

The caravan was very clean.

The couch was very uncomfortable and the size of the “lodge” was much smaller than the expected going on a previous visit to a smaller lodge.

Facilities were excellent and it was relatively quiet for early risers. Accommodation was clean and well presented Staff are super friendly and helpful
