Best Western Plus Soaho Douala Airport

Good location with close proximity to Airport and City Centre. Site is well secured and staff is always available for help. Room are sizeable and very cleaned.

This hotel feels completely abandoned—just like its staff, who seem to be in total disarray. Everyone does whatever they want, however they want. They make up their own rules as they go. Despite sending two emails and three messages to confirm my arrival details for the airport transfer (all of which were acknowledged by the hotel), nobody showed up when I landed. I had to pay €20 for an international call just to get in touch with someone. Upon check-in, the room was missing basic amenities: no complimentary water, no soap, no shampoo. Just 10ml of shower gel—which I was apparently supposed to make last for several showers in 35°C heat and 90% humidity. The gym they advertise has been closed for years. Yes, there's a pool, but no sunbeds or towels available. At the restaurant, we waited over an hour (there were only two guests!) and were served raw chicken—a serious hygiene and health risk. It became very clear why such a large hotel is practically empty (there were maybe 20 guests total). All of this is made worse by a rude, disrespectful, and incompetent staff who think they can fix everything with a fake "I'm very sorry." In reality, the attitude is more like: "I couldn't care less, get out of my way so I can go back to my phone." Absolutely unacceptable for the price paid.

The hotel is right next to the airport making quick one night stays a breeze.

I tried 4 different rooms and the aircon in all 4 was sub-par and barely cooled the room enough. The hotel is very run down. Building work would suggest they are in the process of renovations so hopefully this will make future stays more pleasant.
