The Deakin at Claremont Apartments

Beautiful appartment in beautiful house with most of the equipment we needed. Close to Leeds city centre, Leeds University campus and LGI but quiet.

Bed uncomfortable as mattress very dipped. Would advise you checked new matress which was said to be on order has arrived before booking. Other minor issues: no saucepan lids and hair drier and USB sockets by the bed not working.

I just wished the main light in the apartment could be operated independently, not all on or all off.

It’s a nice looking and spacious apartment with a good layout.

A few crucial things let it down and I wouldn’t stay here again unless they were rectified: **The kitchen** (1) there was no frypan (only two pots). Given the location of the apartment (it’s not very close to cafes or restaurants) I bought £50 of groceries on the way there to make breakfasts and dinners for my 3 night stay. A frypan is a pretty basic and simple thing to expect in an apartment with a kitchen which meant I could make most of the meals I planned to make. (2) Foul smell from the sink and even worse when you open the door underneath it where the bin is located. There’s clearly food and gunk build up in the drain that would be easily fixed with £5 unblocker gel. Shocked that the cleaners haven’t noticed this problem. **The bed** As other people have said, the bed is pretty uncomfortable—it’s all sagged on one side. Even mattresses in Premier Inn and Travelodge are more comfortable. New mattress costs around £300 and lasts 7-10 years. Several guests have mentioned the mattress, the owners are on notice, and yet have chosen to not do anything. Weird. **Towels** There was only one bath towel and one hand towel. Looked in all drawers and cupboards for more but there were none.

It wasn’t as clean as it could have been, didn’t look like had been hoovered also cobwebs on the inside of curtains which let the place down and I stood on a bit broken glass in the rug in the middle of the night going to the toilet which was stuck in my foot.
