Mandalay Shores Resort

We went in April.. Just us Two.. enjoyed ourselves.. The bathroom shower had a weird opening and the tub is very slick and we fell.. it also has a step up to the kitchen, that does have a tape on it, but we both tripped.. So we go again the last week of May.. They forgot to put some things in the place, but I walked down to get them.. no big deal..They replaced the shower door..we didn’t say anything the first time, but it was much easier to get in.. They took out the soap dispenser in the shower so we had to go buy soap.. Tub is still very slippery and you will fall if not careful.. So now let’s talk about that step.. If you are bring any elderly people..don’t stay here!!! Death trap!! My 85 yr old step and broke his hip.. Say the least we never go there again and I am in Oxnard every 2 months..

Walking distance to the beach loved the feeling like home condo heated pool and jacuzzi

Staff only provides support from 9 am - 5 pm. After 5 pm, no staff is on-site. They won’t be able to provide extra towels or address other issues outside of their support window.

We had a wonderful time. The property is super cute and very comfortable. It is outdated, but everything works and it is SO CLOSE TO THE BEACH. My kids had a blast and we made memories. Thank you! Can’t wait to go back.

The property was very close to the beach, clean, and bright. However it was very cold, and while the heater worked well to warm the place up, there were no comforters or heavy blankets on the beds. I was surprised to find a sheet and a light blanket only, when temps drop to the low forties and there is a damp ocean fog. When I brought that up to the property manger, rather than provide blankets, they suggested I turn up the heat.

The place was dirty when i arrived. There was still trash in the garage. When we took a bath, there were floating particles from the jet tub. The place is just super worn and needed a remodel decades ago. The bedding is old and uncomfortable, slept poorly x 2 nights. Wifi didnt work at first, took a couple of hours to get fixed. The outdoor patio was not enclosed, it was in the middle of construction.

What a great hidden away property! Just steps from the beach. It's a little dated, but clean and comfortable!
