Mandalay Shores Resort

We had a great family vacation at the resort. Steps away from the beach and loved being able to hear the waves at night. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to lots of things to do. Kitchen is functional but in need of an upgrade. Beds comfortable . Hideabed not so much. Nicely decorated.

This is a little charm located 1/2 a block from the beach with a great view of the Channel Islands. The outside screams charm. A fireplace awaits you inside as does a nice interior. The rooms inside are spacious. The unit that we stayed in is definitely in need of upgrades. The fan over the stove did not work and the bathrooms have great hot water, but could be a little more modern. The pool is great. The single BBQ for all the units needs a clean - the fire was there, but no heat and we were forced to finish the meat in the oven in our unit. Service was great on the first days, but later in the week, we had questions about the mid-week clean, which never occurred, and where to put our garbage/recycling when the receptacles were full. Several calls to the building manager, leaving messages, no response and manager going for lunch and not returning, even when the "Be Back At..." sign indicated 12:45pm. It is a little far for a home-base for Disneyland as it's a 2.5 hour drive each way, especially with SoCal traffic. Cute area in Oxnard and Ventura. All being said, it was a decent week-long stay and hopefully will be able to return.

There is no place like this: walk to the beach, quiet, peaceful and a real value for the money. Kid friendly, great pool, ability to cook, stores close by, and just a great vibe. If you are looking for a laid back coastal experience you have found the right place.

we love this resort mainly because of its beach front location. even though there's some areas in the room can be improved prior to guests' arrival, we enjoy the the beach which is clean, not crowded, friendly. October is perfect time to visit too.

This is a timeshare venue, and we own a week here. Small timeshare franchise with only about 11 units, but great location. The beach is about 100 years from the front door, and is usually a quiet location. The resort also has a outdoor pool and hot tub to enjoy, the furnishings are nice but a little dated, and they are gradually working on updating the decor. Lot's of other locations to visit, eat, and shop within a few miles. If staying oin the area, must try the 'Greek" at the harbor, great food and live belly dancing, as well as other shops to look around in.

We stayed in an oceanfront location with a beautiful view of dunes, large beaches and a terrific walkway alongside. The rooms were spacious, we had a suite with a pull out in the LR for our son & friend The morning breakfast buffet was more than accommodating, with plenty of food for all. I loved this location, would have stayed longer but was heading down the coast to Huntington Beach.

I booked a ocean front room at Mandalay Resort and was very pleased with the over all experience. It was a good value for the price, the room was very clean and the two bathrooms was a pleasant suprise. I was sceptical upon booking, due to the website's pictures; thinking the room was terribly out of date...but I was wrong. The resort has done a good job in keeping the furniture and room looking spotless. The only negative about the resort in my opinion is the food. Dinner was average...I would stay away from the the New York Steak and the Room Service food was below average, we ended up only eating the dessert.

We stayed for one night. I literally thought I was in Hawaii. We got free happy hour and free made to order breakfast. Our room was awesome. It was a two bed room two bathroom and we woke up to the pacific.i would recommend this to anyone.

Well, it's a beautiful and awesome location. But, modern amenities like wifi and flat screen TVs are not there. The wifi does not work and my wife and I both need it for work. They should not advertise wifi if it does not exist. The office said that the problem was that everyone was trying to access the Internet at once, but this was clearly not true. Otherwise this is a pretty nice place in mellow Oxnard.

We spent a week in the two bedroom (actually a one-bedroom and loft) and thought the best thing about the townhouse was the proximity to the ocean (less than one block). From the windows in the unit, you can see the channel islands and the ocean. The units are older and have been updated somewhat. The loft has a fireplace and the smallest tv ever. The bed is a single but has a trundle pull-out. The main bedroom has a queen bed and no tv (which seemed unusual). The living room, dining room and kitchen were also all on the main level. Downstairs was the second bathroom and the washer and dryer. You have a private patio on the first floor and a single car garage. The units are in a residential area so street parking was available. There are many stairs and if you have any walking problem this is not for you. We tried to go to the office a couple of times but apparently the manager was sick and no one was available to help so we saw the pool and small workout area and knew they had games and movies that could be checked out - but never used any of these services.
