"Hampton Inn and Hilton Honors Rigidity - It’s about Money, Not the Customer!"

The Hampton Inn at Old Bridge and Hilton Honors Customer Service were completely inflexible in addressing our circumstances resulting in a full charge for a 3 day stay even though my wife checked out after one day. I explained to Hilton Honors and to the hotel several times that a severe winter storm was coming to the Southeast and that might wife needed to leave to travel back to GA prior to the winter storm hitting. I repeated that circumstance several times to Hilton Honors and they did make a request to the Hampton Inn. They would not budge. Their response was that the storm was not coming to NJ until Sunday and so there was time to complete the stay. The issue was not the storm in NJ but my wife getting safely back home PRIOR to the storm hitting in the Southeast. In retrospect, I learned that it was a semi-flexible rate and hence the reason for charging the 3 days despite only a 1 day stay. Nonetheless, there were true circumstances that warranted my wife’s departure. There was absolutely no consideration of those. They could have compromised and charged us two nights instead of three or provided us with Hilton Honors Points. This was our 4th stay at this exact Hampton Inn as family lives nearby. It was our last stay there. Also, we have been a long time Hilton Honors members with probably 200 stays at Hilton hotels over the years. That too was irrelevant. Completely up to the local franchisee who clearly wanted their money. Again, we will use our other memberships with IHG and Marriott much more frequently and only use Hilton hotels as a last resort.

The waffles

The coffee was black water. Eggs looked like they were left from the day before at 6:30 am. Made my own waffle, but had someone looking over my shoulder to make sure I didn't make a mess.
