Moldy coffee pot, shower

Nice place for what we needed it for.

The location directly across the street from the Bay was nice. Everything else about the Motel was awful. The room we were given was "completely renovated". I'm not sure exactly what had been renovated but the overall condition of the room was very poor. Moldy disinergrating ceiling about the door, bathroom ceiling tiles looking like they could collapse at any minute. Mold around the entire shower. Old rusty/ some mold/filth in the little fridge in the room. Hole in the wall. Room badly needed a new paint job. And we found 2 pills (Googled them to discover they were high blood pressure medication) sitting on one of the beds... we assume left there from the previous guest. Good thing we didn't have little kids with us that could've found them before we did (they blend into the design on the bed spread). The only good thing I can say about the room is that the beds were comfortable and clean.

I liked that the property is right on the Lake Superior. There is a good coffe house across the street and the beach, but generally speaking it is too cold to swim in the lake, just mainly to sit on the beach and admire the body of water. Some kids still swim even when the water temperature is 63 degrees. Ashland has nice little historical center and a few nice reasonably priced restaurants. But the property itself is very old snd begs for renovation. But from the budget standpoint it was a steal as compared to other nicer places.

I thought the property was just okay...but with a little extra time and work this place could be really great

Not only was the property in significant disrepair, it was filthy.

Very friendly and hospitable owners. Bed was very comfortable. Spacious clean room

The room fee was far out of range for the quality of the room. The lack of electrical outlets was awful. They used an old fashioned extension cord, no surge bar, & we had to plug & unplug to use any devices. The good part was a door with direct access to outside & windows that open for fresh air. Quick access to shoreline walk on Superior.

We did not get the room we had booked online. We were to have 1 king bed and got two full beds instead. The shower and shower curtain had mold. The water was white. We did not dare drink it. It needs a major overhaul in the section that we stayed in.

Front desk staff were unkind and unwilling to honor tax exempt status. When I got to my room, it hadn't been cleaned. When I updated front desk I was yelled at and told to leave. Didn't end up staying. Although, they did state they would refund my money, however wouldn't provide me a receipt.
