The good: Friendly staff The bad: Bed was not made and we didn't even had any blanket only a sheet. The ugly: Needed to completely disconnect the power on the apartment otherwise a buzzing sound would make it impossible to sleep

"Don’t order a taxi from reception."

2.0

Do not trust reception staff to order you a taxi. They call their friends to come and scam you because you are foreign. I paid MORE than triple the proper price. I ordered a taxi through reception and showed them where I wanted to go. Once the taxi arrived I loaded my luggage and waited in the taxi alone while the driver went and spoke to reception so they could probably tell him I couldn’t speak Turkish and was a target to scam. The driver took me to the complete wrong place and I made him pull over multiple times to tell him it was wrong and to turn around. He reluctantly turned around after I got frustrated at him and when I finally arrived at my destination he demanded full payment despite my protests. The taxi driver deliberately played dumb and took me to the wrong place to increase the length of my trip and the price. I left a negative review on booking.com and the Fly and Stay airport hotel have managed to hide it. This is a warning to other foreigners, do not trust reception’s integrity. They know you are vulnerable to be scammed and they are friends with the taxi drivers who are relentless.

"never ask the staff of this hotel to order a taxi for you"

2.0

If you need a taxi, then the hotel staff calls their familiar taxi drivers. I got a real criminal. It's no secret that in Istanbul you can run into a bad taxi driver. And I first wanted to download an application for ordering a taxi. But then I thought that if the hotel ordered a taxi, it would reduce the risk. This turned out to be a mistake. The taxi driver didn't just raise the fare three times, he threatened me and beat me. I didn't go to the police just because I was afraid of missing my plane.

"Beware ,fire hazard whilst under renovation"

2.0

Regrettably I did not check trip advisor reviews but rely on dated reviews from Google map (3 stars rating) before selecting this hotel based on my criteria of economics and proximity to airport as I had to catch a flight at 6am the next morning. Taking a cab from downtown Istanbul in the early morning would come with some rip offs esp cabs hailed from the street. This hotel was a shocker as it was in midst of extensive renovations and building materials were stored in the stairs landing at various levels. If there was a fire (through short circuit), there is no way to escape if the lifts are not to be used during a fire hotel floor was wet on the night we checked in and the place looked like a war zone as some reviewers before me had commented. Room is sufficiently clean but the walls are thin. still I would trade safety for price. Going forth, I 'd better to rely on trip advisor (TA) than on Google reviews as TA and Booking.com reviewers are unlikely fake esp you can tell through their good command of the language (unless in India) and critical reviews Once their renovations are completed, I might change my rating. For now, I don t think they are fit for occupation unless reviews show the fire hazards are since removed.

"Don't stay here just don't!"

2.0

I wish I could have given them no stars. This is absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I would never stay there again. And if you can avoid it my friend do so! It's more like a bombed out shell of a building than anything else. It literally looks like something you would see on the West Banks of Gaza. Then in a beautifully developed country like Istanbul, Turkey. You have to be very careful and read everything because even though this is a "flying stay," and the don't mention cost until later well their shuttle is not free! On the first page where it talks about the amenities, it lists an airport shuttle. But keep reading! Because the shuttle is not free. It actually cost more to use their shuttle than to take an Uber. So I suggest you take an Uber because they're about half the cost. In addition to that, the building is under MAJOR renovation and construction! You can't really tell where the entrance to the building is because it sits adjacent to a DIY building store and that's what it looks like......it's part of the building store. The reasons we chose this hotel are; It claims it has a shuttle and we assumed it was free, the rooms are supposed to be " soundproof", and it's close to the airport, they also claim that there's a breakfast bar in each room. These statements are kind of true but mostly not. For example; like I mentioned earlier, there is a shuttle. It's not free. Secondly, the rooms are not and I repeat NOT soundproof at all. It is close to the airport. The so-called "breakfast bar" actually consists of the American version of, hohos and ding dongs with about three bottes of water. And I'm not sure that's free. After learning about the shuttle, not only wouldn't I eat that for breakfast, but I'm sure as hell not paying extra for it.. It took us an hour and a half to get checked in because our first room had no air conditioning, there were holes in the walls and TV didn't work. We told the staff they put us in another room which had the same problems. It took three tries to get us a room in which things were supposedly working. Except there was no hot water. We had to ask them to turn that on. The owner is inhospitable. He yells at the staff in front of you and blames them for his mistakes like the building being a bombshell. See pictures below. Not only is it an unfinished mess, but it's also actually dangerous. You may be tempted to stay here because the price is right and it appears that they have all the right amenities, particularly if you have an early flight in the morning. But just don't. It isn't worth the headache. In terms of places you could stay that would be safer and more suitable or you could get a better night of sleep; try, I don't know your car, the floor in the airport, or even a box under the overpass. Stay safe out there.

This property was very difficult to locate. Once we found it, the entrance was indistinguishable from the neighboring DIY store. The property was under serious reconstruction. It literally looked like a bomb had gone off inside. It is unsafe. There are no banisters on the stairs. Holes in the walls and in the floors. Some levels are completely destroyed. Wiring hanging out of concrete. You have to ask for them to turn on the hot water. The room they first put us in had no air conditioning and the TV did not work. They moved us to a second room which was the same. It took over an hour to get registered and put in room that was actually working correctly. Staff members are apathetic at best if not completely rude. On the first page of the hotel description, it talks about having me shuttle, but it doesn't tell you that they actually charge for it until you get to the next page. It's actually cheaper to take an Uber than to use their shuttle. They say they have a breakfast bar in the room, but it consists of the Turkish version of hoho's and ding dongs. Disgusting. Do not stay at this hotel. It's terrible.
