North Lodge

A beautiful place, immaculately clean, very stylish and has everything you need for a perfect stay.

Not much toilet paper and some of the towels were quite small but we were expecting that from reading reviews when we booked and so bought our own.

Plenty of parking, good size bedrooms, pet friendly

Advertising property as having a hot tub to be sent a message after booking asking for another £170 to use the hot tub. Reason given is that it is operated by a 3rd party, however, this is not stated in the property description. Its the same as advertising a 3 bedroom to be charged extra for the 3rd room.

The property was lovely and clean and decorated to a high standard throughout. The hot tub was a great touch. The host was very responsive and accommodated us to stay later than check out.

The internet was very limited. However, it was clear this may have been due to the location as there were numerous WiFi boosters throughout the property. Unfortunately, the bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable.

Location was the best thing about the property. We enjoyed the hot tub. The property size was good.

Lack of kitchen equipment - e.g. no wine glasses, no pint glasses, no dish cloth. No bin liners in bathrooms. Not very clean - big cobwebs in shower room. Some kitchen cutlery, plates/dishes not clean. Expensive for less than a week. Reported a problem with a lack of hot water but did not get a response.

I found the furnishings to be very homely with both the kitchen /lounge & bedrooms very spacious. Despite being near a busy road, it wasn't half as noisy as I feared it might be! The staff were very prompt at responding to queries. Whilst the location was pretty decent & not too far from the main city centre & amenities. The hot tub was of course, a nice added bonus.

Having paid over £1,000 for a 9 night stay; £60 of which went towards cleaning charges, it was disappointing therefore to find numerous cobwebs in each room, including in the corners of each stair; most of which appeared to have been there for quite some time. Of course, almost every place gets the odd bug/ spider but they were countless! Having arachnophobia myself, I had to ask my partner to check the bathroom & bedroom before I would enter there. What's more, I found a great amount of black mould on the ceiling of the shower in the upstairs bathroom, whilst the sinks in both bathrooms weren't easy to use...one was very small whilst the plug in the bottom bathroom appeared to be faulty as the water kept draining from the sink when my partner was trying to shave The wi-fi was another issue as it was very unusable during the majority of our stay & had to be reset on more than 3 occasions per day. Not ideal when attempting to research things to do in Lancaster, bus/travel routes or even simply wanting to relax in the evening & watch some Netflix. One final downer was the noise disturbance coming from the different sets of people who'd booked the lodge next door; first on Thursday night blasting music after 10pm whilst in the hot tub, doors banging on Saturday morning around 3am, including a 2nd lot of people who were also out in the garden talking loudly amongst themselves after 11pm. As the main bedroom overlooks the back of the lodge, I had to wait for things to quieten down before I could go to bed myself

Location was great for us. Kitchen reasonably equipped. House a good size.

Some of property needs maintenance/decoration, trim hanging off units and bathroom plug not working. Garden a work in progress. A cafetiere would be useful. Obsession with not wearing shoes in the house difficult.
