The Leeming at Claremont Apartments

The location was pretty good (20 mins walk to centre) and it was useful having a fridge and other kitchen appliances. The bed was quite comfortable so long as you kept away from the mattress join, and the rooms were spacious. Gorgeous light fittings in the living room area. The dedicated parking spot was incredibly useful. The building is appealing from the outside.

The Leeming is advertised as "luxury" but there were a myriad of small things that added together to make our stay disappointing. Needs better attention to detail. The rooms were cold on arrival and took a long while to heat up once we turned on the heaters. The bathroom was cold, which made getting out of the shower a chilly experience. The decor and fittings were shabby round the edges and the rooms were very dark. There were scuffed walls, chipped paint, cobwebby coving, stained sofa cushions and a clock set to the wrong time. The photos on the listing are clearly from a few years ago. There was evidence of previous occupants - e.g. a cotton bud and tissue left in the vanity unit, a kettle that hadn't been emptied or rinsed. The double bed (which we had to strip ourselves due to covid, apparently) had no pillow protectors and seemed to be 2 single mattresses pushed together so there was an uncomfortable line down the middle. And the duvet was too small for the duvet cover. The edges of the rooms and underneath furniture had clearly not seen a duster or vacuum in quite some time. Particularly under the bed, which I discovered when I dropped a hair elastic under the bed and stooped to retrieve it. Bedside lamp was dusty. I don't think you can claim that you want people to strip beds and towels themselves because of covid when other aspects of the housekeeping are lacking and just as likely to pose a risk. The feature fireplace is a nice touch but rattles so loudly you can't enjoy it. There was an odd noise of fast-dripping water outside the bedroom window all night even when it wasn't raining. Gutter problems maybe? There was graffiti on the outside of some windows. A pile of black bin bags and people's laundry bags had been left in the corridor outside our apartment, adding to an unpleasant, damp smell. The reception area (never manned) was littered with old water bottles and needed a good tidy up.

Lovely spacious apartment. With well stocked consumables. Only a stones throw from the city centre. Great parking. Will stay again.

Voiles, instead of curtains in the bedroom, made for an early rise...

Not the most prepossessing of approaches but once inside you saw the quality both of the original property and of the conversion

The palve is so like home probs better well the beds this is my 3rd time staying here in difrent apartments and al lare lush 😀

Spacious, comfortable and clean . Good location and very well equipped .

great space, well equipped and super comfy bed. having parking is a real bonus
