Wingate Houston near NRG Park/Medical Center

The location. Friendly staff .

Breakfast was boring. Same Breakfast menu for years now. Poor wifi . Rooms smells stale. Air freshners should be used to freshen up the rooms. Rugs in the rooms are old

Close to NRG Center with reasonable price.

Gate is only at neighbor hotel.

Convenient location

The tub has been painted carpet looks as if it could be changed. Mattress could be changed out. One of the exit doors was not launching correctly.

Location!!

It’s a little bit outdated, broken doors and elevator and smells really old. For a location so close to a humongous stadium that sells out frequently, therefore the hotel is sold out frequently too, they could do something about the facilities. The breakfast was so-so…but then again, it’s American breakfast, so it was expected beforehand.

My stay at the Wingate Houston near NRG Park/Medical Center was a terrible experience overall. The one positive was the staff: they were friendly, and one gentleman kindly helped me find the rusty gate where I could exit the property and walk toward NRG Center. Unfortunately, that detail also captures the larger problem. Walking in Houston is difficult under the best circumstances, but having to navigate derelict fencing and a rusty gate just to reach a nearby venue made the hotel feel poorly maintained and poorly suited to pedestrians. I appreciated the staff member’s help, but I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is run down: the elevators did not work, the pavement was cracked, and the property felt poorly maintained. The “free” breakfast consisted of toast, warmed-up scrambled eggs, a few yogurt containers, and the smallest cup of coffee I have seen at a hotel. I had to switch rooms because there was minimal hot water, and the shower in the second room had a loose bathtub liner, as if a shell had been placed over an old tub and was pulling away, leaving a pocket of air underneath. Even the location was inconvenient: the hotel sits on a feeder road near a busy highway, with backed-up traffic waiting to get on the highway

How close it was to NRG Stadium

Only one elevator was working and it was at the end of the 1st floor. We were on the 3rd floor and had to walk to the other end of the hallway to our room and all the way back that hallway to get on the elevator again. Also didn’t like the fact that we had to pay $20 for parking my vehicle on the property being that I was a guest there.
