Hotel Umaiyyal International

Room was comfy and great. Owner guided to the location.

The hotel never mentioned during reservation about the age limit they have for kids. They demanded money for kids above 8 years old and we have been pushed to pay. If i have that earlier knowledge i would not have booked additional urgent room. That was misguided. We stay at hotel for travel visits at all time, but this age limit is very new for us. May be booking.com or Treebo should display that age limit for kids and about the additional 600 rs they charge for kids at rhe time of booking to resolve confusion between visitors and owners. Breakfast is good.

The rooms were clean and tidy

The staff and the service could have been better. The manager didn’t even arrange help for dropping our luggage in our rooms. Even a tea was not served in our room instead we were asked to come down to the restaurant. The complimentary breakfast was rationed. 1 vada, 2 idly, and dosas. As the server was taking a lot of time to serve we ourselves had to serve our family. Some of us had to remind them multiple times about our food. The extra bed that we paid for was given with a pillow without pillow cover. We insisted that we need one. The reply was “ they didn’t have extra pillow covers” nor bed sheets ! Poor service overall.
