Cavedale Cottage

Location Nicely decorated Quirky TVs were brilliant, all stations and easy to use.

1st : 2nd bedroom wasn't a bedroom, mattress located on a shelf, not much clearance, accessed by a blanket chest, wete both in our 70's so no chance. 2nd : living room very cold, had to have heating on, in August ? Corner sofa unit felt damp and was grubby. 3rd : Shower faulty, took ages to regulate to a reasonable temperature. 4th : Garden/outside spaceca mess, needs attention, steps very dangerous. I'd hope we could get some money back for all the points made above, definately overpriced.

Remember that it is a very old cottage and get things in perspective. Convenient location, easy to get to main local attractions. Well furnished and decorated. Beds comfortable. Private car parking. Near to excellent eating places.

As an older person the low ceilings and multiple floor levels were a bit challenging, our 11 year old grandson had no problems. He also enjoyed the quirky 2nd bedroom, (not so good for adults).

Outstanding location in the centre of the village square, with access at the back to a breathtaking cavedale. The main bedroom was very comfortable.

The second bedroom was functional but a niche in the wall, not ideal. The downstairs is set into the rock of the hillside and has a slight cellar feeling to it, but nicely decorated and furnished.

Cupboard need a good clean in kitchen also needs new saucepans and fry pan. Duvet needs replacing.

Position was excellent, right in the heart of Castleton. Cental heating was good, so lovely and warm for an old cottage. King size bed was great.

Unfortunately the dishwasher was not working 😕 no mirror in the bathroom, although to be fair, there is not really space with the shape of the bathroom walls.
